New model for OWK three holes saber... (New pics on pg 13. 11-17-2024)

We are having extremely difficult shipping here in New England as well..

A lot of people have been cut..
As a fellow New Englander I can confirm this. My salt shaker still did not deliver yesterday. USPS has put me on a low sodium diet for at least another day.

It has been horrible.. and the prices to ship.. I just sent a wicked small box.. has to be 3x5 box to the UK. 47 dollars!! Only option!

Can not believe how bad this has become.. I don’t mind paying the shipping.. but get the dang thing to my door..

My actual post office in town is wicked small.. so I understand things get delayed. But now it’s everywhere

Stars end is getting wicked low in salt shaker stock..

Anyone else thinking of picking up a “sister” to display both versions I wouldn’t drag my feet

I can’t see them lasting til next Friday…

Hey, did we ever get a part number or a source for the rivets, by the way? I don’t recall coming across one during all the TPM Obi-Wan research,

Don't think so.

If its not too much trouble could you tell us if the brass valve on the TPM is compatible with the salt shaker hilt?I

I just checked and they are not. The TPM version relies on an insert screw and a separate brass piece (with the purple rivet shoved into the insert screw). The Salt Shaker brass valve is a single piece that threads into a larger hole.

Correct. The TPM brass part threads onto a spacer which threads into the saber, whereas the SS's part is just one long brass screw.

Thanks guys.

I had to know just in case we could make the SS even closer to the TPM.

One great add on for the kit would be a seperate Emitter peice (The black part) as that is different than the TPM model aswell. In finish not being gloss black. But also the points of the Aluminium "U" cut outs seem to change where they sit at, Both having 8 of the outer channels and 7 of the inner, so either scaling or whatever reason between the 2 props. Plus also the "U" asymmetrical cuts on the aluminium change between the two.

So to make the prefect TPM representation (Especially those who missed the Static run) out of the SS it would require a little work (Maybe if people bugged Dan enough for the part made like the BOBF pommels etc or resorted to designing and printing their own black part) but hey we all love this stuff

Side by side: Dewy and A.S. static run and the Salt Shaker in Ep I/II mode (not 100% finished yet). This new version is so cool!

Beautiful pic man! Really shows the subtle differences between the two I didn't even realise until now the difference in the bottom "U" type cut before the Pommel area it's subtle but different. I knew the black bits had different modelling but this is noiicee

Not much of a U cut but this area here I didn't realise until now the cuts change abit

And here’s the TPM compared to the SS in AOTC mode.

At first glance, they’re seemingly identical, but then you start to notice the differences. Most notably, the angles of the central grip cutout (the U-cut, etc.), the wider grooves in the black portion of emitter, etc.

For many years, everyone (including MR) sort of took the chromed resin AOTC props as what that version of the saber “really” looked like (no pommel cube holes, brass hemi, chromed LEDs, no washer on the emitter face, etc.).

Now, we can safely say that the primary/most obvious differences between the TPM and AOTC sabers—be they the real-world props or in-universe—would be the thicker step under the (…now machined aluminum?) emitter washer and the (apparently) weathered purple rivet.

Hello!

Such amazing photos!

I was part of TPM Anakin starkiller’s and dewy hilt but with some financial issues, I had to let it go…

I suppose this saber is different from TPM or the conversion kit reproduce the TPM hilt?

Thanks!

It's different. I'd say it's similar to the difference between a Folmer Graflex and a Graflex Inc. Once you've see the differences, they're very different in the details - but normal people wouldn't notice, and you won't either if you've never compared them under scrutiny. Whether or not that bugs you is very personal.

Ok,

Thanks! Let’s hope that one TPM owk will show up in the junkyard or a remaining stock in Anakin starkiller house juste like the mcgregor one ^^
