Hello, everyone.

I'm Jason, a budding prop maker (without actually making anything physical yet lol) and heard about this site through the Youtube channel Tested. As I said, I've yet to make any actual props, dont have the material or extra cash, just made 3D replicas. I really love the aspect of prop/replica making, so I decided that I might as well turn it into a hobby that coud turn into a career one day. I have a whole slew of replicas that I want to make (X-wings, various EU character sabers, etc.) and would love to 3D print and mold/cast once I get the necisarry parts. I've already created a custom saber, only in the 3D stage of course, and hope to make many more props/replicas in the future. TopDown.png Upclose.png

Hi all!
I thought I'd finally suck it up and join RPF.
Up to now I've mostly just been dabbling into collecting a few star trek toy props here and there. I also used to build a few sci fi scale kits in the day.
A few weeks ago I started my first scratch build : a 1:200 scale Atreides frigate from David Lynch's Dune. Not exactly a studio replica, but I thought I'd share here anyway :)

Hey!

I'm Tyler, I was recently introduced to RPF by a friend of mine who knows how much i love to build. I have been a prop master for 5 years at my high school and now at my college. however i have been building props since i was about eleven in the garage with my stepdad. I never really embarked on accurate replicas until High school, during a production or the little Mermaid where i had to build many replica props including the trident, magic shell, and many others. i have since gone on to design, build, and alter props for many different shows, including Sweeney Todd, The Games Afoot, and The Addams Family.

On occasion, when i have the free time, i will build props for my own personal use. however when i do those i don't often try to make them source accurate, instead i largely adapt them to my own personal style, sometimes mixing props, like the clockwork orange cane light saber i built a while back.

As well as props, I also do costume work, i have made a custom Jedi cosplay (robe, tunics, everything), i have been the mad hatter with a custom hat and jacket, and i am currently working on the rest of my clockwork orange Jedi. I am also an avid Lego fan and i sculpt in Lego when i dont have the wood or foam to sculpt in that. i make everything from animals to the Parthenon, both online and in hand.

The main reason that i joined RPF was to learn more techniques about making props, costumes and just fabrication in general. I hope to get a lot of good skills and new tactics!
Thanks

Hi everyone! I've lurked on RPF every now and then for a little while and a friend of mine convinced me to join up. I'm looking forward to sharing my work with this amazing community! I work as a set and costume designer, mainly in theatre. I also design and make more specialised props and costumes such as masks and armour, and do some sculpting and moldmaking as well.

Cosplay is a hobby I had to leave by the wayside a little once I started studying for my career, but it's something I really want to get back into both for fun and as a way to experiment with techniques which will then in turn help with my work. I've made two foam Transformers costumes. I'm aiming to start work on a cosplay of one of Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn's more armour-based outfits soon. I've also got a couple of other projects on the go - Lucina's mask from Fire Emblem Awakening and I'm making the steel armour from Skyrim based on the pattern by Punished Props. If anyone's interested, I post progress of those on my new-ish Instagram (isa.abulafia)

I've attached some photos of my Transformers costumes in case there are any other enthusiasts here. They're both based on characters from the comic series More Than Meets the Eye; Sparkeater and Nautica. Sparkeater (the creepy green one) was the first foam costume I ever made, so I jumped right in at the deep end there and totally fell in love with the medium. I'm excited to push myself further and share the results with everyone here~

Hi everybody,
I have been wandering around the cite for a while now, and finally decided to join.
I found out about this cite two years ago, when my brother showed this heap of awesomeness.
(This past year, I also found out that my dad helped make this website) So far this was my best decision ever. :D

You mentioned something about a grave yard where the Deadpool costume is being sold. I can't find the grave yard link. And how much are you selling it for?

Hellooo all. My name is Johanna, I'm originally from the Philippines but I'm doing a production design course for film in London at the moment. I cosplayed a lot a few years ago under my gamer tag name, Raekalia, but because I'm in uni now I don't have as much time for personal projects. I do however learn a lot of techniques all the time in uni that I'll be able to use for creating various props and replicas in the future.

These are a few of my recent dabblings - there's some puppet making (the giant shark XD), prosthetics, clay sculpting and moulding and casting pictures. Just thought it might be interesting to show that there's actually some uni courses that do this now ^_^. Sorry in advance for the amount of questions I'll be asking, but hello and it's very nice to meet everyone! :)

Hello All,

I've been looking at various threads here for a couple of months to help with my cosmetic Nerf mods and thought I should join since there is obviously so much talent here, I've actually been repainting Nerf blasters for years and created a couple of wooden replica rifles for a hobby and potential cosplay applications.

Big Star Wars and Aliens fan, and LotR, and Lego enthusiast.

Hello!
I'm very, very new to prop building and love to browse this forum. You guys make such great stuff.
Hope to learn a lot from you all.

I used to browse about 10 years ago, then got caught up in life and lost track of the RPF... now with Star Wars movies coming out like clockwork and technology getting smaller every year, I'm more interested than ever in finally owning an Obi-Wan with a crystal chamber and sound. I started off by browsing Roman Props, then it occurred to me that I should come back here to check things out and get everything straight from the source. :)

Hi, I'm Flo, I live in Germany. And my english, you will notice it soon enough, is not so good!
I'm new to the prop building. I build something, that should looks like the Head of the ABC-Robot from Judge Dredd (1995). I will soon build the Motion Tracker form Alien 2.
Normally I build everything like Furniture, Toys for Kids, for cats, ...
I like to build and I hope I will learn here a lot!

Greetings:cool

I have checked this forum out on many occasions and decided the time was right to join.

I have been a prop and cosplay marker for 6 years, and run my out shop "Gotham Fabrication".I promote my items to new rookie cosplayers who cant afford that $500 Prop they want.I am glade to be here.:rolleyes
