Hello I'm Matt. I discovered this forum through an R2-D2 builder friend of mine and thought it may be helpful to join the community. I'm delving deeper into my fandoms and collecting. I'm also interested in cosplay specifically Star Wars. Sith and Mandalorian in particular. Thanks and I hope to get to know some of you along the way.

Hello everyone. This is my first cosplay build. I'm going to do a bucky rescue captain build. I found this awesome site through a friend. I hope to gain a lot of info here and hopefully share my building process to help others. Thanks for having me.

Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lex and I build foam iron man suits and various props. I'm a 3D modeler and animator that also knows sculpture and painting. My mom says I'm cool but she may be biased. Although I just recently joined I have been visiting this site for a few years when researching projects. Glad to be a part of the group now. If anyone here was at Nycc 2016 on Saturday you may have seen me in my iron man suit. My first thread on this site all about my Iron Man Mark 41 bones cosplay build. Look forward to hearing any advice or feedback. Cheers.

Hi, everyone. My name is Rich and I'm from southeastern Wisconsin. I've been lurking here for a long time and have been amazed at the depth of knowledge and skills of the members here. I mostly do medieval costuming, but I also like Star Wars, Firefly, Aliens and Steampunk. One of my favorite things to do is to make steampunk rayguns out of junk parts.

Greetings,

Am new here. I am on the BB-8 forum and wanted to start with some props we like so joined the RPF. Going to start with the kids and do lightsabers. Good to be here and looking forward to get to know people. Thanks.

Hey everyone, my name is Colby and I live in Central Texas. Film has always been a big part of my life and the cunning designs behind cinemas crazy guns, vehicles, and secret lairs have always interested me. I now run a 3D printing company with a focus on props, pop culture, and keeping makers informed about the many ways to craft their replica props. I am hoping to learn more about the materials that I am both familiar and unfamiliar with and see the awesome work I know the people here are capable of.

Hi, im Andrew from Hungary.

So far, only I was reading the forum and love it. There are many talented people.

I'm a beginner in "sculpting", clay pottery tried terminator T800 skull and Ironman helmet.
T800 on top of the cabinet dehydrated slightly cracked ... and oversized.
Now try again NSP medium of clay and foam core. One day it might be done.
(Good 3D quality reference material anyone could help I'd appreciate it.)

Have a nice day!

Andrew J.

Hey all,

My name's Andrew and I live in Sydney. I have a few simple cosplays under my belt already (mostly Silver-Age comic characters) but would really like to sharpen my skills, especially in the prop-making department. After ogling several of the builds here I finally bit the bullet and registered an account,

Hello all, I'm Luke. I've been doing prop making for a couple of years now and am doing bigger things. Hopefully I get to complete the projects I strive for. I like taking peoples options/opinions as it helps me and my knowledge. Love seeing peoples work, and I hope you enjoy mine.

While you are checking it out maybe consider throwing a like my way! My passion seems to be bringing Frank Frazetta warriors to life. I've made two complete versions of Death Dealer and am building a third, more accurate look. I built Frazetta's version of the Witch King which he drew in 1975 and I'm now working on Red Morden from the Dark Kingdom painting he did as well as a female Valkyrie inspired by a frazetta drawing. I've also built Heimdall from Marvel's Thor movie. I enjoy this hobby like no other. I'm pretty active with the cosplay community and I help with operations and promos at Planet Comicon, KC.

New member here from Texas. I found the site looking for the Indiana Jones grail diary, or directions/guidelines for making a diary yourself. In looking around, I found myself becoming interested in a number of various projects. Some of the work the members here do is really incredible and I would like to get into doing some stuff myself. Hoping I can learn how from being a part of the community!

Hello RPF! Long time lurker here. I honestly don't know how much time I'll spend here, but I'm glad I finally joined. I'm really looking forward to asking questions and getting everyone's feedback on costuming and what-not.
See you all, 'round!

Hello All,

My name is Scott and as many people here, I have been plowing through the 'Tested' podcast and youtube channel. I have always loved props like this and for a long time, I have had to put this hobby to the side, but now I think I have time to dabble in here.

I have mod one nerf gun and I loved it so much that I want to keep doing that. But I think my first project will be recreating Gruncle Stan (Gravity Falls) eight ball cane. Once I have that done, I would love to show you all

Hi, Hallo, Guten tag, Hej, What'cher, Aloha, Bonjour, Salut, Hola, Buon Giorno, Zdravstvuyte, Namaste, Konnichi Ha, and Yo!

I'm kind of a Halloween freak, and just stumbled upon here looking at various props, the last of which was a Carl Kolchak straw hat, something I really wanted when I was 12 and the show was still running new.
I don't do much construction or modeling of my own anymore, but I always appreciate nice work when I see it.
I started off as a horror fan (heh, my nickname in 7th grade was "Boris"), then got more into SciFi, then about 10 years ago became more of a Fantasy/Magic fan, I guess; though all three genres are related and still fun to me.
I'm also a musician and sometimes dabble as a magician.

Was that good for you too? Now I need a cigarette! ;)

Gravity Falls was awesome. I'm starting to appreciate even more now that it's cancelled.. figures. Have you seen Journal #3 that's for sale at a popular online bookstore? They did a really nice job on it, although I was hoping some of it would be in UV ink. Ah well.

Hey there. I just joined. I've heard a lot of great things from Tested about this page so I figured I would check it out. My interests for prop building are mostly gaming right now. For example, I'm looking at making my own specially designed assassin's hood from Assassin's Creed and I currently have three tabs open for different fabrics that I am looking at using. Another prop I would be interested in making is Master Chief's Spartan armor from Halo. More specifically, the Mjolnir MK IV so that I could cosplay as Caboose from Red vs Blue, if I so chose. I am new to the prop building world so I do not currently have any props to show off.

Hello, everyone.

I'm Jason, a budding prop maker (without actually making anything physical yet lol) and heard about this site through the Youtube channel Tested. As I said, I've yet to make any actual props, dont have the material or extra cash, just made 3D replicas. I really love the aspect of prop/replica making, so I decided that I might as well turn it into a hobby that coud turn into a career one day. I have a whole slew of replicas that I want to make (X-wings, various EU character sabers, etc.) and would love to 3D print and mold/cast once I get the necisarry parts. I've already created a custom saber, only in the 3D stage of course, and hope to make many more props/replicas in the future. TopDown.png Upclose.png
