This is Uncle Al and I used to own Chisholm's Trail leather where we made very close replicas of all of the Indianan Jones holsters, belts, side pouch straps, etc.

Hey All.

I've been lurking here for a while, and finally decided to post some of my fun projects. So, I'll be doing that shortly.

I am very much a 3D printer person, and have been slowly learning Fusion360 to help take ideas into The Real. I'm fond of 8-bit things, and enlarg-ification. Giant Lego versions of things, Trees, Food, Bricks, etc. Something, something playing with scale.

Also been on a Dune kick. Currently in the process of weathering a Thumper - which I will post. Did a build of The Box / Gom Jabbar which I loved.

Great to be here, thanks for being a welcoming community.

Hi everyone! I’m not really new… i have been around in the shadows for a while and i’m not sure i introduced myself so… here we are again.

My name is Renato roldan, also known as renato3xl in social media.
I’m a story board artist/animator/art director in animation and video games, but as a hobbie i LOVE to build stuff since i was a kid and my grandpa made me a sword out of two sticks together.
I love sci fi ( star wars, aliens, battlestar…) and fantasy ( lord of the rings, willow…) and almost anything cool fron the 80-90s.

Hello, My name is Randy. I've been hearing about the RPF for years now and finally made my way over here. In my sort time on the site I've been very impressed by the length and breadth of knowledge possessed by the membership.
My interests are model building, model trains and recently building/installing lightsabers. But you can't really do much with a saber without a costume. So now that's my latest obsession.

Hi, I’m Jason. A dinosaur cryptographer who likes anything Sci-fi or fantasy. I relax by making ‘real’ stuff after wrangling 1’s & 0’s all day. :)

I’ve not made many replicas - but i am in the middle of building a replica Apollo DSKY. And I did make a wand for my niece so she could cosplay as Star for Staf vs the Forces of Evil. And I do like the idea of having a full size R2 unit, but I fear I may be murdered by the wife and buried in it if I ever built one.

Not a newbie been a member for a long time but just havent got involved as much, made a few purchases also. But maybe felt a bit overwhelmed. But I am more experienced now, have now mastered a lot, from 3d printing to props in general.
I managed a print company in London, UK, I can print on any material upto 8ft x 4ft in size and upto 5cm or so in height, so I love getting tables, metal, wood anything under which is great. I got my first 3D PVC printer around 6 years ago, then moved to resin printing straight after and have mainly used that medium.
Look forward to getting a little bit more involved and perhaps being able to help on some projects

Hi everyone,

I'm thrilled to become a part of theRPF community! As someone who is passionate about prop making, costume design, and all things related to replica fan art, I’ve been eager to join this forum for some time.

Interests

My main interests lie in exploring the intricate world of prop making and costume design. I’m particularly fascinated by the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into creating replicas from movies, TV shows, and games. Seeing how fellow enthusiasts bring these pieces to life is incredibly inspiring.

Experience

I’m relatively new to this field, but I’ve worked on a few small projects that I’m quite proud of. Most notably, I recently finished my first custom lightsaber build, which was a challenging yet rewarding experience. I’ve also dabbled in creating some small-scale model props from popular sci-fi franchises, and I’m looking forward to expanding my skills further.

Expectations

By joining theRPF, I hope to learn from the wealth of knowledge and experience that this community has to offer. I’m eager to pick up new techniques, get feedback on my projects, and hopefully contribute some tips and insights of my own as I grow. Networking with like-minded individuals and participating in group projects or challenges would be an added bonus.

Thank you for welcoming me into your community. I can’t wait to dive in and start learning from all of you!

Best,

Ferri

Hi all! Been a lurker for many years finally decided to create an account to document some builds.

Have some professional experience in prop creation for theater and independent film. The last few years I haven't done much in that space, but I have been building a lot of cool stuff including fabricating custom bicycles frames and dabbling in insect weight battle bots.

Congrats on finishing your first lightsaber build. "you've taken your first step into a new world" as someone once said. What sound board did you use, or is it a static build?

Hello. I’m Brent. I have been into science fiction all my life. I acquired my first vintage Graflex camera flash back in college (circa 2001). However, I have only recently started to dip my toes into FX conversion and replica saber building. As you all know, screen accurate replica props can be an expensive hobby, and I am just now finding myself with the requisite extra time and money to pursue it in earnest.

I have a degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech and have worked with 3D printers since 2004 for rapid prototype development.

For anyone that is curious, no, my user name is not a license plate number. It is my old student ID number (hence the “GT” at the beginning).

Hello everyone, I have always loved sci-fi and video games. The imminent release of the Borderlands movie prompted me to create my first custom cosplay and weapons, which I am actively engaged in. There are so many masters here! I want to learn to create what I love with all my heart

Hi, I'm Steve, been on a couple of times a while ago but work stuff keeps me from returning! I'm an offshore ROV Pilot and a keen collector of movie memorabilia and collectables. I love Sci-fi and Horror, especially 80's stuff. I have a dabble at creating stuff but not from scratch as I have limited time and workspace. Ive built a home cinema as a home for most of my stuff but otherwise the walls are covered in posters and my spare room looks like Hanger 51!

I've been working on a few things over the years, we managed to get a nice Velociraptor from Etsy and decided to have her coming out of a poster. It's positioned over the stairs out of the way but a bugger to dust!

We managed to get a nice HIC a while ago and still a work in progress. It's a basic layout in cold cast aluminium but ive recently acquired some nice side panels and electronics from Fettronics so looking forward to finishing him off.

Cool ceiling!

It looks like you could get lost in it.
It's compromised of several different sizes of fibers to give a near and far affect. Twinkle settings on very low and we keep it white although it also came with a colour wheel to set whatever colour takes your fancy!
