re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Everyone
I'm not really a big prop copllector, not yet anyway. I tend to make Model Kits from Star Trek although I do have a few small prop communicators as well as an MR Boomerang phaser that I am in the process of repainting due to damage.
I hope to start getting a few more props and am considering getting the Nakada Particle Pistol as I really like the design.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone!
I've lurked around for a year or so and finally decided to register.
I've always had a facination with movie & tv props (namely the MFU & James Bond) and sci-fi in general.
Right now, I am heavily into 1/6 custom figures.
This looks to be an awesome forum and I am excited to be here!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all
I am a huge geek when it comes to sci-fi and zombies. Over the year I have gotten in to costuming and going to cons.
I am always willing to learn and try new things. I am a dancer and a Yoga instructor with a wonderful 10 year old son who keeps me grounded. I have 2 ferrets a cat and a snake and a closet full of costumes ..lol

I am happy to to be here.

Thank you

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everybody,

My name is Mike. I am an active member of the 501st Legion/Star Garrison in Houston, TX. I am involved in costuming, prop building, and choreographing lightsaber duels. I have put together a couple Star Wars costumes and am looking to expand my costuming into other areas.

Right now I have a screen accurate Episode III Anakin and a Clone Wars Anakin from the new CGI series. I am in the works on three other costumes at the moment. I am putting together screen accurate costumes for a Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a Wolverine (from X-Men Origins), and a Jengo Fett. Although, it is likely that the Jengo will take some time to complete... I am not in a hurry on that. Here are some pics of the two I already own:

This is a little video from the Hosuton Comicpalooza, we met Ray Park, did a little show for him, and he showed us some moves. Too bad my primary dueling partner was on the bench with a twisted ankle from the day before. He was disappointed.

I met Matt Lanter and Dave Filoni at Celebration V and got them both to sign my shoulder bell. I made another one after that. Gonna have this one framed. (Pic was taken before Dave Filoni signed the Armor, which I made myself BTW)

Hello everyone ,

I'm James and a lover of all kinds of science Fiction forms. Collected toys for most of my childhood , but ended up selling many of them off over the years. Have trolled through the replica forum for several years , but didn't want to join until I had something to contribute and/or work on. I hope I learn a lot from all the great builders and talents.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

well hello there.

My name is Todd. I live in GA just south of atlanta. I have been a browser of this forum many times over the years for various reasons. I would like to one day make some of my own stuff and this is an amazing and informative place.

Now i just gotta find the proper place to ask my question and make sure it hasnt been covered thoroughly already!!

* im sad i missed the $1 store lightsaber build contest, but the threads are awesome and im gonna make one to go n my desk! *

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hello everyone.

I have been lurking off and on for the last year or so. Finally decided to register and join the group.

I have been into costuming for a long time. I'm a good seamstress, but have problems with the hard part fabricating of costumes (ie, I usually buy stuff off great prop makers). I am also a member of the 501st (Great Lakes Garrison).

Currently I am wanting to make a Tron costume, so doing lots of research on the site about that. But there are so many great threads about other costumes. I hope to be able to contribute to this site now that I have registered.

I build models, fabricate and mod stuff on a regular basis; I've perused the forums here for a while and thought I’d join.

Hello All. I can't believe it took me so long to stumble onto this forum. I'm a big of fabricating stuff from scratch, (or at least my feeble attempt compared to many of you on here). I live in Florida and hate every minute of it. I also tend to have a plenty of time to brainstorm and virtually no time to work on any thing.

I've attached a few pictures of an older project inspired by the game Bioshock.

Hello everybody!

I found these forums while looking for info on making a Tron Legacy costume. Man, what I resource I found! I've done a Ghostbuster (as seen in my avatar) with my pack featuring a full light kit. I also have a generic Jedi costume and several MR lightsabers. I look forward to learning more from the wealth of knowledge here!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Not really a new member, but I just realized that I never bothered posting in this thread...whoops!

I've been into prop and costume-making since I was about 7 years old, and I've been collecting (purchasing) things since not long after that.

The main item on my resume has to be my custom Mandalorian suit which was "completed" a couple of years ago, but is likely to remain changing for many years to come as I continue toying with it:

Here's an old picture of one of my blasters - the weathering has been improved since this photo was taken, particularly around the ivory grips to make them less blinding.

I build and buy lightsabers, blasters, and other small things of that nature, mostly. Larger costumes and projects come less often but do appear in my garage every now and then. I never plan on stopping the machine, and I've got high hopes for building several more costumes and possibly an R2 unit in the distant future.

I've been coming to RPF for years as a resource, but only recently registered. I'm not regretting it so far! Glad to be here.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey!

I've always wanted the actual scaled sized props from my favorite movies. Found this site while browsing upgrades on the new TRON Identity Disk.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! Glad to be here. Have always been interested in sci fi and have always liked to do detail work (plastic models as a kid, home improvement projects as an adult), but it took BSG to get me obsessed enough to start using my powers for evil -er I mean props! Highlights:

View attachment 41445 Practice run at etching Tigh's miniseries bottle (didn't want to practice on the actual bottle). Ended up with two nice looking bottles, one from the miniseries and one from later episodes (without the circle and with an "L" on each facet).

View attachment 41446 Some insignia I collected for the BDU's I never made because I got sidetracked by my obsession with squadron plaques:

View attachment 41449 (my toddler has NO appreciation for how cool this makes his changing table)

Lately I've been perfecting some graphics from Moon, and next up is a stab at a Starship Troopers graphic for a friend of mine to turn into a regimental flag. I've got a Firefly project that I've started and stopped, started and stopped (making a frame for some Alliance currency I obtained) and maybe another BSG project on the horizon (framing some pilots wings, remember Apollo's retirement gift?) when I find the time.

Hope to post some details on some of these projects later.

Sorry about all the pics... haha. The Predator is still in the works. My next costume I want to tackle is a Rinzler/Tron suit. I would LOVE that! MKVI Halo Spartan armor is up there too!!!

Some other hobbies of mine are gaming, Muay Thai, Hockey, Drums, Cars, World Cultures, 3D modeling, Conventioning, and costuming/prop building!

I hope to become a member of this family!

Thank you!

Branden
