Mandalorian Season 3

Sweet! Maybe I can pick up some Mando gear for cheap! Been really considering getting into costuming lately.
Everyone’s definition of cheap could be different but the complete kits -to me- are not cheap.
But there does seem to be a lot of availability if your watching for that

Man, all you guys with the full Mando Cosplay setups look amazing!!

He’s such a cool character. That’s why this season breaks my heart so much.

I’m starting to feel about Mando like I do about Boba Fett…I have this constant need to defend him to people…

“No really! He used to be cool!” :p

Personally, I've been loving all of Mando, but I'm a sucker for all of this stuff. Sometimes you just have to let yourself like things.
I am very open to liking things, I mean c’mon I love TFA and TLJ. Thoroughly liked Kenobi and very much loved Mando S1 and 2.

Letting myself like things doesn’t preclude me from ever disliking it if I don’t like the direction it is going in. This season is just disappointing to me and I cannot find any enjoyment in the writing, character development etc.

I am still open to the last episodes blowing my socks off, but I am beginning to doubt it.

I have a pre beskar too. Need to see some pics from you guys.

I'm too embarrassed to show it. It was made using the reference pics of the D23 display before the show debuted. This was long before the folks like Great Ape and Debora Di Mateo came into the picture, so a lot of it was scratch built from styrene. It was only later that I decided to jump on the 3D printing bandwagon.

But like I said, this season has done little to make me wanna build anything, what more to complete it. Even the Mando-centric episode of TBOBF motivated me to replicate the weapons he checked in before his space flight. This season... nothing.

Some people were complaining that Andor is too slow, but in the end the amazing story telling was unparalleled in the Star Wars universe. Mando started great, but now it has the effect of a tool that is too worn out, but you insist using despite not doing the job properly. The Mando story is all over the place now, they do seem to have a thread there, but it is so thin and has so many useless ramifications, that you are wondering if there is a story anymore.

It’s a live action Saturday morning cartoon. It is clearly written for a younger audience with way way way too much emphasis on showing Grogu every chance they get now.
But seriously it is playing out to me just like a cartoon. Not anime… a cartoon.

The first episode/pics of the Mandalorian was full of excitements: Clint Eastwood's lone character, cool costume/weapons, mysterious in that "No helmet removal" type of idea...I whish they'd have stick to that depiction of a man roaming the Galaxy and defending the "Widows and the Orphans" as they say in French(y)

I'm really trying not to be negative, but...damn. Do we all realize that you could do a 10 minute fan edit of this episode that cuts directly from Mando/Bo Katan arriving in atmosphere to visit the other Mandos to them actually walking up to them? The entire middle Canto Bight-esque side trip within the domed city of Plaizir could be extracted with no consequence.

Speaking of the Canto Bight part of the episode...Jack Black and Lizzo?! I could actually have almost accepted Jack Black if they had him playing against type...as a despondent father who'd just lost his daughter in some surprise raid. But he was just playing himself. As was Lizzo pretty much.

And though I actually like Katee Sackoff and her character, this season has pretty much seen her character given equal weight and screen time as Mando. Seems a little imbalanced.

Grogu's presence continues to have no effect on the story. I still contend that this season was originally written without him, and Disney told them to put them back together because dollars.

This has strayed far from the premise of a loner walking the desert of a gritty and broken system righting wrongs.

I hear the argument that Disney forced Grogu back into the picture because everyone likes him, but that could’ve easily been done without doing it the way they did. Just intercut between Grogu’s adventures training with Luke and Mando doing his thing.

They could’ve delved more into the emotional aspect of Mando missing him and all that jazz.

They could’ve still featured plenty of Grogu without forcing this premature reunion with Mando. Just because he wasn’t with Mando doesn’t mean he had to be unseen entirely.

I think it's okay if the story evolves, right?
Definitely but there doesn’t seem to be a plan for an evolution which harnesses a smooth transition in my mind. Arguably S2 finale might have been the best opportunity to put the Din character out of the story for a season or two, then re-introduced him (perhaps with an older Grogu), where the Darksaber/Bo aspect has a more weighty feel to it.

I've never quite understood the logic of still active battle droids when they pop up in SW media since I thought it was clear in the PT that they were remotely controlled by control ships. Unless they were radically rebuilt and re engineered with onboard automation, I never thought it made much sense that they could even function.
IIRC this was covered in the latter movie or cartoon. They were reprogrammed for independent 'self ' control if you will.
