I remember reading somewhere that in ANH she was originally going to have her breasts taped down and then she was going to let someone on set rip the tape off either at the end of each day or the end of production, I don't recall if when it was supposed to happen was ever mentioned.

She herself said that Lucas would NOT let her wear a bra, "Because there's no underwear in space!" So they used Gaffer's tape (ouch!) to give her support.

This makes absolutely NO SENSE ... and I can totally see it happening.

And just when you got the nerve to ask her out, you'd find out that she had been dating some college sophomore from across town for the whole school year... and his name was Harrison Ford (you can't tell me there wasn't more than just a one night stand with those two).

Or you're an idiot 15yo and you had a chance with that girl, but were too chicken. *Raises hand* I ran into that girl about 10 years after high school and I mentioned I had had a crush on her, but had no chance and she said I 100% had a chance and blew it.

BTW, I believe Carrie Fisher's Slave Leia stunt double also played that female Endor Rebel soldier in some of the stills, though she looks like they dressed her down so she didn't look as good as in that shot posted.

Yep, that's Tracey Eddon. She was a Rebel Endor soldier, and was ALSO the Anthony Daniels/C3P0 stunt double (falling off the sail barge), and also also the stunt woman on Supergirl.

I would guess around 238,855 miles. We know the Deathstar was orbiting Yavin so the X-wings left Yavin and went towards the Deathstar. At it’s closest the moon is 238,855 miles from earth so that is where I came up with the number, assuming the Deathstar was not at a closer orbit to Yavin.
Meant to write back sooner, but got distracted.
The biggest issue with those numbers would be, that the earths diameter is 7,917.5 miles, while Yavin 4 is suppose to be 6337.9 miles. Thats already around 1600 mile difference, but even more, the moon is 2,159.1 miles, whereas the death star is only 100 miles, huge difference.
So if anything, I can't imagine the x-wings on the first picture being more than 10,000 miles away. But I'm no math wiz either.
Maybe there is an online type calculator for trying to figure stuff like this out.
I'm most curious with the last 2 pictures where the x-wings are the closest. That would probably be the hardest to figure out.

Dude,if you had provided those numbers earlier I would still have made a miscalculation.Where is R2 when you need him!

Question: Is the Death Star comped into this shot?

Wasn't the actual model for the movie built with the construction side on the left and it was reversed for the movie? Nothing else is reversed in this shot, so It makes me think it was added in post. Or am I wrong about the model?

Here's a question, what are Storm & Clonetrooper helmets good for? Or more to say, what can they do? They don't seem to offer any sort of link with their weapon for targeting, even Crosshair, a clone developed and wearing armor specifically designed for sniping still has to shoulder his weapon and look down a scope. They don't seem to offer night vision either, in both The Batch and Mando, we see troopers using flashlights in the dark. So what benefits do these buckets actually offer? They're not even good enough to stop stone weapons being wielded by overgrown teddy bears.

Climate control and air processing. The helmets allow to troopers operate in any weather and in atmospheres that are either too thin, thick or toxic to normal humans. When connected to an independent air supply, a suit even act as a space suit.
And... they are intimidating.

In the real world, until quite recently, soldiers' helmets were never made to provide much protection against bullets either. Their role was to protect against flak — things flying around at high velocity after an explosion nearby.

It's partly not showing any capabilities on screen and the people making the shows not mentioning their capability. The Republic Commando novels mention a lot of the functions of the helmet such as low light/see through smoke, weapon sight links, etc. There's a scene where a Jedi wants to know what the helmet does, puts it on, and the commando mentions that without being linked to the armor/weapon it would be limited in what she could see as far as functions. I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen any POV shots of clones or Mandos through their helmets yet. I think the weapon/helmet link is mainly for lowvis conditions like the Clonetroopers firing through the smoke in AOTC where they were hip firing, which to me indicates they were using their helmet links.

That sounds about right until you think about how many different specialized sets of Stormtrooper armor there are. You desert troopers for hot and arid terrain, snow troopers for extreme cold and snow, shore troopers for beaches(?), and so on. I don't think that Stormtrooper armor does much for climate control except to keep you cool in temperate climates.

As for protection, even an old steel pot protects you from rocks, but a Stormtrooper's bucket doesn't seem to do even that much.

Another feature lacking in the Storm and Clone trooper helmets is integrated comms. Why don't they have built in comms and instead have to use a handheld comm piece? It's not they don't have the room for it inside and it should be well within the Empire's capability to take the guts of a standard handheld comm piece and it inside a helmet.

ANH does indicate that they would have them, in the "TK-421, Why aren't you at your post" scene when Luke knocks at his helmet.
I suppose GL had thought it would have looked weird in later scenes on if Luke had to put a helmet on to talk to 3PO instead of using the comm link.

During Order 66, many Clonetroopers obviously got the order delivered directly to their helmets. One of the troopers following Stass Allie on speeder bikes is even seen holding a button on his ear (a push-to-talk button, cutting out the vocoder, probably).
