I've never seen that game before. That's cool!

Ever play Star Wars Starfighter?
No. I didn't have a PlayStation at the time. I always meant to go back and play it at some point.

Actually just checked and it's available in the PSN store and on Steam.

Oh man Id still be playing Rouge Squadron for the N64 if the stupid thing would run on my emulator
May look like hell but that was back when games were still complete games when you bought them, and much like with films back then still had as much art and creativity about them as they were about being geared towards generating money (not to say there certainly werent soulless cash grabs back then)

You can get it through Steam or GoG.

PC with a joystick is best way to go. I love the flight model of that game. They did something I've never seen before in a Star Wars game. They have two different flight models. One for space and one for atmospheric. So you feel the difference between flying in a vacuum verses a planet where your dealing with friction of the air and gravity.

I just ordered two new controllers and Battlefront II for my PS2. Our disc has gotten too scratched to be reliable anymore. It's still the most enjoyable 2 player SW game for my money. (y)

Though on PC it's a hundred times better. The amount of content you get with all the mods out there is unreal. More ships, weapons, characters, classes, game modes, maps, textures, animations, eras. From KOTOR to the New Republic, both Legends and canon.

Thanks for the heads up, my laptop is strictly for video editing (this frustrates my kid but I don't want any glitches on my laptop from too many programs) but I'm considering getting her a gaming computer for Christmas, I miss playing KOTOR.

KOTOR has a pretty awesome mobile port. I have it on my phone and my tablet. Runs great. The controls are little finicky when swoop racing or using turrets. But it's the best port of a game I've ever seen.

Tbh Id love to see a full rerelease of Jedi Academy. That game was so stupidly fun its not even funny. Perfect single player campaign mode, online multiplayer was fantastic especially once people started modding and adding custom maps, ships and other NPC’s
Nothing beat randomly spawning a Rancor in the server and watching the mayhem ensue

Still play that very frequently. You can get it on Steam. Add a dismemberment and gore mod, and murder some stormtroopers! :p

Wait, Battlefront II or Battlefront 2? If we're talking the old school one, yeah, there's a ton of stuff out there. If we're talking the new one from EA, I was unaware that there were any mods that actually worked. I got really burnt out on that game on XB1. I can count on one hand the number of times I've played it since...probably April 2018.

This is the one I was referring to (I have the PS2 version). Is the PC version the one with all the mods available or is that the newer one?

I'm talking about Battlefront 2 (classic)
Here's the ModDb page Mods - Star Wars Battlefront II
There was at one time an ultimate mod pack put together. Last I looked the website for the mod pack is down. But thankfully I kept a download.

Battlefront 2 (DICE) is getting better and better. This months update is going to add more single player content, and freaking Republic Commandos!!!!

Shall we take a trip down memory lane?

Star Wars Rogue Squadron III was my very first Star Wars game. It was my primary form of Star Wars, since I wasn't allowed to watch the films as much as I would have liked. I used to play the heck out this thing, then when my game time was up. I pulled out my LEGO and continued the adventure. Underneath my bed was my Rebel base/Home One hanger. Oh so much fun! Plus the game the co-op version of Rogue Squadron II. I'll never forget the elation of finally blowing up the Death Star, after like the 20th attempt. And the music, oh that awesome synth music. That music accompanied my Star Wars adventures more then John William's scores.

This trip down memory lane just made my night. Rogue Squadron was also when games were an actual challenge. The level on Sullust in particular I remember being quiet a nightmare. I loved the Battle for Naboo game as well. There was a great bonus level of chasing down Darth Maul's ship through Coruscant skyscrapers.

Regarding the ESB tractor beam thing, I never even thought the Star Destroyers would have tractor beams. The Super Star Destroyer, yes, since it's actually mentioned in the movie, but the normal Star Destroyers, no. It seemed like a really special piece of technology considering what Obi-Wan went through to turn it off on the Death Star.

I think it's implied that ISDs have them at the start of ANH. We hear what sounds like the hull of the Tantive IV making metallic creaking and popping sounds, then we see the it being drawn into the main hold of the ISD. I think the implication is that it's supposed to be a tractor beam. Though interestingly the script says that it's the sounds of machinery outside the ship. But there's nothing just outside the ship. But anyways it was established in other material, later on, that ISDs have tractor beams, so I must not have been the only one who interpreted that scene that way.

That level, Moff Seerdon's Revenge, and Battle of Calamari were the biggest pains in the a** to gold medal.

I found the maps a bit too linear and once you had mastered force grip you could practically throw everyone off cliffs but in all other aspects it was a great game with tons of fun. I’m actually replaying Jedi Outcast...man, games were designed different back then. Frustrating does not equal challenging.

I loved the fact that for gold on some levels you had to hunt down each individual stormtrooper on the ground somewhere. Unlocking the V-wing and using it's homing cluster missiles was the best way to kill Seerdon's overpowered landing craft. Man, I miss that game.

Yeah, and if you turned added some of the cheats to quick keys you could run around replenishing your force bar and throwing lightning in every possible direction (especially if you turned your saber off).

Loved some of those cheats can still remember them! g_saberrealisticcombat 3 ! and setforceall 9 !

Another level that was a pain was Fest. The poor AT-PT's were always quickly overwhelmed.

Also, just highlighting that It's been about 20 years and I still remember the names of these levels and can even quote some of Moff Seerdon's dialogue.

Yep, the V-Wing with homing cluster missiles was the go-to for that level. Same for the Battle of Calamari.
