A lot of people suspect that this show is being used to money laundering. Things like this makes that suspicion be plausible.
I don't believe it but I could see how some could believe it.Most of the cast is female so not a lot of money being spent there, the story (or lack thereof) is very simple so maybe enough fruits to feed the 5 chimp writing, and the set's and costumes look cheap. Disclaimer: before someone points it out, yes I know chimpanzees eat more than fruit.

Never mind. Here’s Ewok Ted again.

So women get paid less? I thought there was no wage gap. I think Carrie-Anne Moss has the higher salary of them all.

and yeah no way its mostly a female cast

The witches are mostly background actors, without speaking parts. I wouldn't lump them in with the main cast members, especially when talking about salaries. It'd be like including all the Stormtroopers and military personnel with the main cast in the original Star Wars movie.

Disney has no power to ruin Star Wars. They can make as many crappy shows or movies and retcon as much as they want in new material and it won't change a thing in the OT or the PT. So what if they recontextualize things in new material in idiotic ways? If it's dumb, ignore it, it doesn't have to be part of our SW experience. Even though I watched it I can't remember much of what happened in the Book of Boba Fett. The very few times I ever think about it are only in the context of it being a bad show. I don't care enough about it to hate it. I imagine that the Acolyte will eventually join it in irrelevance.

Until they figure out a way to change or destroy all previously released copies of the OT and the PT I'm not really going to loose any sleep over anything Disney does with Star Wars. There are too many incredible things happening in the world.

Ignoring bad content is far easier than ignoring those who attack your character for not liking what they do. (I say "you" and "your" in the general sense, not you personally.) This was a public reply on a Star Wars Facebook group I'm a member of when asked why he was so upset with people for not liking Acolyte. The worst part? This type of thing is the norm. Not the exception. The majority of the posts were equally as insane/ insulting towards critical opinions, no matter how trivial the issue was- a behavior that has been encouraged and mirrored by the parent company since they took ownership of Lucasfilm. All of this nonsense because someone posted the RT score for the show. Go figure.

Before anyone decides to reprimand me for not blocking this lunatic's name, keep in mind that he posted this for the world to see, so I feel no remorse in sharing it.

Argument 101, when you attack the person and their argument. You've lost. That guy has lost the argument on a multiple of levels.

That's what I say. "My" Star Wars is 6 films plus the EU circa 2007. With a bit here and there thrown in from 2008 and 2011. My Star Wars journey started in 1997 and "ended"* in 2007. And I'm satisfied with that. And I don't really care was George thinks about the EU or what Disney/Lucasfilm says. The EU is canon to me.

* I say "ended". But I haven't read everything published between 1976 and 2007 so there's still material for the read. So the journey continues!

Agreed. That's not all he's lost. Lol. Freud would have a field day with this guy. In all seriousness though, this is the level to which discourse has devolved to when discussing fiction. Fiction of all things. This is why I'm so adamantly against politicizing Star Wars and most entertainment in general. I've only become cynical about much of popular fiction because not every story needs to reflect the snarky Gen X attitude of pretending to not care, but is then bereft of any hope. Society it seems, is so mired in being ironic and I have a vehement hatred for the cultural embrace of cynicism being celebrated as a virtue.

Some stories lend themselves to moral ambiguity, but there's just as much value in stories that celebrate true heroism (ie. selflessness) and we really need that now, more than ever. I don't care how "outdated" that premise might seem to studio executives or actors who make millions of dollars. They work for me. Not the other way around. Their job is to create entertainment. Not preach to me about morals. And a large portion of the fanbase is just as guilty. So I vote with my wallet.

Whether it's movies, books, music, or sports, the medium or past time didn't matter because they were meant to be an escape from the harsh realities of every day life. These places used to be neutral ground where we could all set aside our differences and enjoy ourselves. No longer. Pointing out the obvious, that the quality of the fiction has dropped, isn't a criticism against someone's moral character, but when fans or studios shift the focus to that, by blaming those who won't embrace these ideas? That is the problem.

Sure, movies might touch on certain issues, but more talented writers/ directors were also well aware that they were telling a story to entertain people, not use their status as a platform to espouse their personal beliefs. Even when their messaging was more overt, they still had more tact to write it in a way where the story came first. The message was clear, but it didn't have to talk down to you to make itself known. We're at a point now where if a character broke the fourth wall and looked directly at camera and began a monologue about the theme of their show, it wouldn't come as a shock to me. We're almost at that point.

This isn't a college lecture hall or a church pulpit, or a special session of Congress. This is supposed to be entertainment.
