Youtube recommended me this deleted scene from Return of the Jedi. Someone added sounds and music. I can see why it was taken out for pacing....but the very first shot thats a whole 1 second long. Its actually a cool shot and too bad they didn't fit that in somewhere. (Unless it is in the movie, but so fast that I just don't remember. Just saw it again over a week ago)
On youtube at least, it has a very green tint to it, so I corrected it more blue to match the final film.
Either way, its a cool shot.

Edit: I saw that besides adding in audio, guess at least a ship or more were added by the person. So not totally sure how much is the original shot now. Inless it was all faked...not even sure now. Someone here might know.
I really don't know a whole lot about all the deleted scenes.

And the video clip.

If Disney ever decides to do a Luca and tinker with the OT more, I hope that more and different ships to every Imperial fleet scene. Instead of showing fleets of nothing but Star Destroyers, I'd like to see Arquitens, Gozantis, maybe interdictors, and maybe one or two of those triangular looking carriers. Now, I'm not suggesting that I want Disney, I just want a remastered but otherwise unaltered OT, but if they were, that is what I'd like to see.

The New Disneyfied Battle of Endor Ultra Edition. Now with more star destroyers and blue tinted filter like modern movies.

I don't want more Star Destroyers, just more Imperial ships of different classes. But it would be kind of funny to see somebody actually redo on of these scenes this, just not in an unofficial release.

I know....but I can so totally see Disney doing something dumb like this...lol.

The thing that still ticks me off to this day about the ROTJ SE (Vader attacking Emperor yell was added later, but I hate that too) is that they didn't add the B-Wing attack runs and just more Rebel fighters in general to that space battle. You can't tell me that the Rebels wouldn't bring more than a squadron's worth of fighters (despite multiple "group" name mentioned). I would LOVE to have seen that initial group of fighters hyperspace in and then see the Mon Cal ships start dumping fighters out of the hangars! They should have done that instead of wasting their money on the new Jabba's palace song cringefest!

Yeahhhh... From my frame-by-framing through the space battle, I realized what we were seeing was likely Gold Squadron, consisting of the Falcon and five B-Wings, taking point on the attack on the Death Star II, with a mixed Red Squadron flying cover. That same smattering of X-Wings, Y-Wings, and A-Wings is sticking close to the Falcon all the way through until they can make the run on the reactor. Because of the problems with the miniatures' wing actuators, we never saw the B-Wings after the fighter spearhead broke off to not hit the shield, but we know from storyboards and publicity shots they were supposed to be mixing it up with the rest of them and taking out at least one or two Star Destroyers (we can see their handiwork in the background of one shot, that made it into the final edit).

Green and Gray don't fit the previous model, and calling them groups is one of the things I want to smack George for most (especially because he used "group" and "squadron" interchangeably early on). But yes, absolutely, there should've been a couple hundred fighters pouring out of the big ships, if they didn't hyper in like Rogue Group did. Something like this, since George liked WWII reference:

Looking on youtube, heres a fan attempt at it, from 10 years ago. Super low quality and rough CGI, but its a basic idea at least. Although they have the B-wings totally destroying the Super Star Destroyer. I do like how in the movie, they had it crash into the death star, and at 12 miles long, looking pretty small.

Cleaningnup the kitchen, and preping to paint soon, found this way back on a shelf.
I had forgotten about this.
My younger brother of 3 and a half years always, always wanting to be like big brother. (Me)
Sometime in elementary school in art class, he made me this Tie Fighter.
The crudeness and all, the love of a little brother. Glad I still have it all these years later.

Also, as I had started a star destroyer when I was in 7th grade, he also had started this tiny SD. I ended up finishing it 10 years ago for him.

That's awesome, Michael. Your post reminds me of a time when simple things like these along with plastic lightsabers were all it took to make me happy. Nowadays, unless it's a super accurate replica, I can't seem to find the enthusiasm I once did...and I hate that. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that time.
