Iron Man Mark III (Dark Asylum)

Very nice end ressult.
You put allot of work and dedication into it. I think you did a fantastic job.

How many commissions of Ironman are you currently working on? Or was this the only commission you had making.
Amazing job!!!! Insane detail.....

Love the boot action you got going on with the lights!

Thanks, what I posted is pretty much it the Blank high impact styrene version kits and the finished ABS suit I posted pics of, I never was looking to corner the market on suits just another project for me something I enjoy, I'm only one person I don't have a team of 25 guys working out of a workshop so what can be said only one person can do so much and so fast and I rather not mass produce one item just cause it's a hot item I do things as an art and if the project pays for itself can't ask for much more then that but I fear some people just get the wrong idea think it's all about a quick buck.

So as it stands nothing on the table but the next project is about it.

Amazing work!
I guess it not only makes it that much more valuable but amazing that one 1 or 2 of your highly detailed projects exist.

So currently Ive been working on my suit for IronMan Mark 3, and was curious as to how you chose to do the chest and back area. Did you produce it as a solid piece or as two pieces front and back clip together, or kinda like a shoulder pad design with side clips? Im trying to figure out one that would work best and curious to your design.
Thanks.....

Again AMAZING JOB!!!!! One of a kind!!!

What revising are you planning?

I gotta say I'm kinda regretting going for the final battle look of IM 1 and not the pristine version, but I'm not going to repaint it now. I thought about it, but I'm attached to the paint job as it is. That said, I did get the arc reactor in and the lights.

I'm very pleased there were only a couple DA IM MK3 suits produced. Looking forward to the MK4 if you go that route.

If you'll excuse my weathered suit. Sorry for the crappy pic, I had to crop out the person beside me. I haven't had a chance to go tromping around the city as Iron Man, but maybe I'll get around to that soon and I'll post a pic or two.

Well actually the chest is in 3 parts clips on the top velcro in the sides and the shoulder back winf section goes over the strap work you need to realize this suit was in like about 55-60 pieces before it becomes the main 12 parts pluse the joint covers I think it's actually a longer and harder process then make fiberglass parts but I notice even after attacking and dissing my way of doing things I see others are going the forming method now too.

And Fetts for being the first finished suit battle worn or not it still looks badass and you did my parts alot of justice and it gives it alot of character I'm happy you enjoyed finishing it a sharing your hard work with me and the folk's on theRPF, and best part about time is you can customize upgrade and perfect props, from the original suit to the new version was alot of changes made as well so what ever you do just have a good old time with the project.

And as for the MARK 4 I'm working on it but we'll see if I can get that project off the ground or not. Also sorry if I'm not catching the quotes but it's not working for me at the moment so mind the lack of highlights

Words fail me, on so many levels.
First that is an amazing suit.

Second nice to see a finished one at this level.
The rest of the words I will save for J/R in ref to the suits.

All I can say is I wish mine would look like that. :unsure

The suit looks killer, you should start the MK4, I have not seen anyone else tackle it outside of pepakura. It looks to me a more physically practical suit anyway.

Well I'm ready for any project ironman or not but just rethinking the future of what I wanted to do, war machine doesn't seem to interest any one and not a fan of the oversized tank look but lets face it regardless the MARK 4\6 weapons were epic so red and gold win hands down and really had alot of history with the MARK3 but I've grown to like the new look way more the more flat angles so personally I wouldn't mind one for myself.

I guess I should take a future vote on that one.

Also I'd like to thank everyone that still held interest in this project tread good to know some of my hard work got such a strong following even if I didn't keep updating as often as I should have but I'm a bit lazy on the computer end, any how thanks it's much appreaciated and I wish you all the best.

this is off topic but where did you get the helmet in you profile pic dark asylum?

Just a punisher skull gasmask I did quite a few years back, always been a big punisher fan of the Garth Ennis comics just thought it would be cool to make a badass gas mask and it's just something I haven't seen anyone else do yet, but I might make a newer version. I did a few variants of this one it's more popular then Ironman on my Deviant art gallery so it's no suprise when asked and I'm more of a punisher fan so better as a profile pic.

And to be honest I don't really care if things get a little off topic I think most of the threads get off topic anyways.:unsure

dude the ironman suit is so sick...really love it. i've started a pep build...first ever build...but man yours is killer.

Thanks, I think you can build anything if you put your mind to it and you just plan ahead the right materials don't always cost you and arm and leg if you know were to go, I'm far from rich so it's all planned out and in budget for me other wise I'd have 100s of projects to do but I have my limits so I understand, so one thing at a time.

Pep is popular these days but I really don't know anything other then what I read about it I'm old fashion so alot of the time the digital stuff I have no clue about and there's too much of that inolved just to get started and get the prints so I rather build it from the ground up and modify it as I see fit it's the only way I know but every one has a different method and as long as it gets the job done go with it as they say "there's no wrong way to skin a cat".

But it does seem like a big project like ironman it kind of seems like people get burnt out half way through it and the project and it's interest just dies, cause for one person it's insanely time consuming and very tiring how ever method you use it's a big tough project to tackle I'm sure every one will agree on that. But I think it's worth a try and it's always good to challenge yourself.

Ok Sorry folks it's been a a long time and this project needs a little closure, few fire wall problems and a break from Ironman for awhile to get caught up on some commissions.

I'm glad to see there's still some activity on this thread even without my updates or input so it's still a supported project, anyways love the work Fett did on the kit version of the suit and glad to have him share his hard work on this thread, now I guess it's time to post some progress of the ABS suit I finished being a different mateial there was alot more work involved and it's been done for almost 2 months since it was finished.

Also there is a new helmet for for this suit, it needed to fit a much larger head size so it's a brand new prototype helmet, same as the gloves and neck all new custom made parts all done out of reo flex Urethane molding rubber cause to allergies to latex.

Well not to bad for my first finished suit hope you all enjoy it still some upgrades to be made and a lot more work still now that I can see all the changes and updates to be made just needed a nice break after such a long tough project, so enjoy the pics and I wish every one the best in their projects and in life.

Thanks for the comments and support it's muchly appreciated.

Hi There DarkAsylum, I am wondering if you can help with this query:
I put up a most here http://www.therpf.com/f24/arc-reactor-seller-issues-93158/ It is about Timdrakerobin who is a BANNED member on the RPF and several other forums for failure to deliver products and/or services, he has done the same to me, my question is why is he connecting himself to your Ironman suit? The evidence is here in his video upload on youtube - it is the same as your photos posted here... YouTube - ‪timdrakerobin's Channel‬‎

Thanks for your help
