I just did a test with my rare earth magnets to see if they would do their job, and it was a flying success. For those thinking of using the same method, I used 4 magnets measuring 1/4" x 1/4" x 3/4" with a force of I think 20 pounds each that can be bought online from kjmagnetics.com. They're a great site with excellent customer service, I recommend them. You glue one into each end of the inside of the pepped body on the side that faces your arm. Now, you have to do this one at a time, because the magnets are extremely powerful. To do this (and to make pepping it easier), I actually cut out a window from the back side roughly 1/4" from each beveled edge so that I'd have full access. So once it's pepped and you've applied resin to the outside (wear a respirator), glue one magnet in at one end, then mix up your mud and pour it into that end so that it completely covers the magnet. Trust me when I say the glue alone won't hold these magnets, but they have to be that strong to hold Glitch in place in case you swing your arm or have to run from a virus, etc. Mix up more mud and pour it down the center just to make sure your chunk of mud doesn't come loose, then glue the other magnet into the other end and repeat. In my case, I'll be mounting the watch/cog piece with a screw stuck through the metal plate on the back of the watch body, so I'm leaving my Glitch hollow with the back still open so I can screw a nut onto the end of that bolt. That way I can change the battery or reset the time whenever necessary. The last step, putting the other two magnets into your wrist strap, are up to you. Just remember to either give the magnets "roll" room in small pouches or glue them on facing the correct direction so that the polarities match the ones inside Glitch. And if this small tutorial was crap, please let me know and how to fix it.
Oh, and brief exposure to the magnets had no effect on a digital wristwatch I've got sitting around. I've got all 4 of them stuck to it right now and I'm going to leave them overnight to see if they have any effect.
