Glitch from Reboot (Progress Pics up) WIP (Need more ref pics)

So I didn't find my dvd's. Appears they have vanished...either that or my ex has them..

ANyway, how do you fold the inner cog piece? I've figured out the rest, but the inner cog is where I'm stuck at. I'm not sure where to cut and how to fold it..

Reboot DVD: TV Show on DVD from TVAddicts

This was the first I found but also the cheapest....however buyer beware...the shipping costs like $40 and it still takes 2-4 weeks to get. :confused

So I have no idea what the quality will be like but I've seen these offered on other sites as well but they cost quite a bit more than on this one (but shipping might be less so maybe it evens itself out but who knows). Ya certainly not licensed but anyway...

I'm just hoping it is better quality than my VHS recordings of the original Seasons 1 & 2 and then I'll be happy.

Plus downloading from Torrent always takes so long, so what the heck I'll try it...

Be careful with that site

BTW reboot is one of my all time favorite shows. Some cosplayer named featherwieght made a Fong , that thing is sick.

Got the DVDs yesterday....it is just two DVDS pirated from Cartoon Network, so my VHS copies will be much better unfortunately. Small images too...

Here's what it looks like when screencapped...

Note the extra band of mistimed material on the bottom....distracting. *sigh* Overpriced yes but at least it is a memory of those episodes. I just had a quick look at the beginning of the first episode, if there are any other problems I'll post again. But unless you are desperate I wouldn't recommend it. :unsure

There are currently two torrents available for the show. One is 9 GB and looks like the videos they used to make those DVDs and the other is just over 11 GB and were apparently all ripped from DVDs. I guess they released the first two seasons on DVD in Russia, so the uploader ripped them and dubbed them over with the audio from the cartoon network broadcasts. I've been watching them for a couple days now and they look pretty good.

At the sake of Necroposting (Not sure if RPF is as tight-A** about it as 405th, which I love, make no mistake, I started there) Thanks Rizu for the torrent, It finished downloading earlier today, and my dad was skeptic the whole time, but when he opened up one of the videos he was really happy cause of the quality and it made his day, now every Wednesday is ReBoot night instead of anime night.

Good trade off if you ask me. Haha.

Nope, not as nazi about it as the 405th, and I'm not really sure this qualifies anyways. I haven't had any time to work on my Glitch, but I'm definitely not letting this project go.

OK, bumping with my progress so far. As Epileptic Squirrel posted in his other thread, he had his Glitch cog machined out of ABS plastic. he sent it to me to mold and make some casts, but as of yet the weather has been bad every time I've had access to my casting supplies. I'm hoping to mold it up sometime in the next couple of days, though. Unfortunately, the glass pocket watch lens I bought turned out to be a little bit too big. I'm currently trying to track down a new one that's 1 size down, which hopefully won't be too small.

I just placed an order for some 1 inch wide pumpkin orange vinyl tape, and picked up this really cool looking tape along with it in case I'd rather go with cool than SA. It's sort of lenticular, hard to explain, I'll post a picture when it gets here.

And instead of messing around with fiberglass resin and screwing up the body even more I decided to just cover the entire thing in styrene, so I did. I cut all the pieces to size, glued them on with some epoxy, trimmed them to size, and sanded them smooth. Now I just have to find a good way to bevel the edges cleanly without rounding them off at all and then I can prime and paint.

So the only thing I haven't figured out yet is how I'm going to attach the back plate of the watch I bought without permanently gluing it on, so that I can replace the battery, change the time, etc. It uses tiny eyeglass sized screws to attach to the existing watch back, do they make drill and tap sets that small? Or am I going to have to bore out a section of the back of my cog and glue in the back half of the original watch case? Any recommendations would be helpful.

I would screw it into the Glitch itself, just make the Glitch split in half

(I have no progress due to lack of funds and my dad whined that he really didn't want it, so I'm buying him an MR Lightsaber and getting him a plack that says: In case of Gungan, break glass or something like that since he told me one day he'd like to have an armory with that at the center.

No, the Glitch need to Split in half so you can get to the back of the watch which will be screwed into the top half of the main body.

I'm not sure I'm understanding you. The main body is a separate piece from the cog, and the watch will be housed in the cog. My Glitch body is a solid chunk of mud with two magnets inside and a hollowed out space in the back center where I can screw a wingnut onto a bolt that will be coming out of the metal back plate of the watch. The problem I'm having is how to attach that plate to the back of my new watch case, the cog. Maybe if you can illustrate what you're saying I'll be able to understand?
