I'm starting on making a 'Glitch' from Reboot for my father as a gift, but the only reference picture I have is below. Ideas and Pictures are more then welcome, and I will have progress pictures in a day or two.

Best. Idea. Ever. I'll be following this thread. Do you plan on making it work, or just a static prop? Wearable?

Thank you, and I plan on making it Wearable of course, and I hope to make it so the top ring can be spun to turn the green led on and off. It's going to attach using a wristband with magnets that can go under any long sleeve shirt. Starting tonight.

And thank you very much for the great ref pictures from the first few episodes Jackdoud. Are those screenshots you took?

Yeah, I got low-res VHS rips years ago before DVDs were available. If there are any specific scenes you know of that you need let me know and I'll see what I can dig up.

Any you find would be amazing, I can't even find a place to buy the DVDs, I didn't know they were even in DVD format, I'm working on it right now though and will have a progress pic up as soon as I finish cutting the back 'bar' out of bamboo, yea, bamboo. By the way, I cruised through your website when I was taking a break, and those are some very nice props and costumes if i do say so myself. And pure genius with the jedi comm and the starwars binoculars. Anyway, next post will have the pics. My saw crapped out on me cause the bamboo is such a small peace, so I keep almost cutting myself so I have to use the dull saw blade in my multi-tool. X3 (Bamboo and Cardboard)

Pics now: (And I found a few of my old Reboot toys from when I was little while looking for the bamboo.) (I'm 17, so back when Reboot was around, my parents got me toys for Christmas, anyway, how do you guys think the bamboo looks, is it a good size?) (And yea I know it's too big for my arm, but not for my old man's) (Had to Double Post because I couldn't upload them on the one before for some reason.)

You might be better off finding a thin PVC tube or something similar. You can plug the ends after cutting it to the right legnth- ReBoot has a very crisp design for everything, very basic pure geometric shapes. The more you can capture that, the tighter your end product will look! I'm sure you can get industrious if you root around a little, and still keep a tight budget. :D

Otherwise, you've gotten your basic components down well! Fully support this project, I have at least one of the action figures myself (1st Gen Bob). :D

Will you make any attachments for the various Glitch-tools? Can't wait to see how it goes!

Thank you, and I actually found more, I have just about all of them still (1st gen bob, 2nd gen bob and dot, enzo, matrix, megabite both forms, the two robots that followed him, matrix's girlfriend, and a few others), and two of the big statues (Matrix and 2nd gen bob), anyway, if I feel up to it, I may make the 'saw' that was used in one of the episodes since I have to toy of it and it would be easy to clip on the main body and easy to add a motor too, but I'm getting ahead of myself, as for using bamboo, it was just to see if I got the size right, I was planning on buying a small peace of PVC pipe for it instead anyway and possibly capping it off with screws of some sort that could be filed down after being glued in. Anyway, as I said before, any and all advice is welcome and thanked

Nice to see someone tackling something from ReBoot, a pioneer in CGI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReBoot before Pixar came out with Toy Story...and to this date IMHO the best CGI animated series. I have all the DVDs (and many of the early episodes on VHS), so if you need something in particular maybe I can be of help...

Now you've got me wanting to make one, too. I might just go ahead and buy some aluminum bar stock for mine and polish it up really bright.

If either of you could get me a screen shot of the sides of glitch I would be grateful. and SithLord, did you get the Reboot DVDs from a website, if so could you post a link to it if it still exists, it would make a great add to the overall gift since my Dad gave up looking for DVDs a year or two ago.

And go for it Risu!

I tried to find the show on DVD a couple years ago, I think only season 3 was ever released, but I could be wrong. Netflix only ever had 3 of the 4 discs in stock as well. You might get lucky on ebay.

I ordered them new back in 2004 from Amazon.com. You can still find used ones on there.

Unfortunately the DVDs have Bob in the web merged with Glitch, then later on with the Two Bobs his counterpart doesn't have a Glitch. So I had to rely on Enzo's somewhat damaged Glitch...here from the last chapter of "Firewall" before he engages the firewall. Now keep in mind that the black ring that you rotate changes shape as well, but at least this shows a "static" shape. But nevertheless some good detail here. :)

In the USA Season 3 was released on DVD by AD Vision, Season 4 was released by Anchor Bay... Both are now long out of print. There was a mastering error on Season 4 that meant the shipping of a number of replacement discs.

Season 1 & 2 remain unreleased in the US.

Various DVD's of various seasons are available in non-American countries... no idea of the quality, language or anything else.

Well, it looks like Glitch has beveled edges. I think for mine I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for one of those diving watches that has a huge face similar in shape to Glitch's "gear" piece. That way it'll be a functioning watch.

Thank you, even though it's a little beat up, it shows exactly what I wanted to find out. I couldn't remember if the 'bar' on the back was in a groove or not in the back of Glitch. :thumbsup
