I'm just about done with my jacket for halloween. I started with a second hand satin members only jacket that I found. I hand painted the cuffs and waist brown using textile paint. I wish I had done some research because I think spray would have probably been a lot easier.

Then I cut the collar and the side panels out of dark brown felt and glued them on (I dont have a sewing machine so it was my only option). Then I used some mustard colored felt for the scorpion and painted the lighter parts on to give it that shaded effect and glued that on. I think it turned out pretty well for $30.

What type of guide did you use for cutting the scorpion from the felt?

since I can't wait to get a hold of the jacket, I decided in the meantime to get Driver's haircut. I brought a pic to my hairdresser and he was please to gave me the same . However, I won't go for blond as he suggested.:)

Haha dude that's awesome. I have the same color hair and about the same length so i walk around thinking i'm pretty cool cus of that :cool

Is there a place to buy the jacket without the scorpion logo? I don't think I'm that cool yet lol.

You can contact Indy Magnoli about that one. He's making a few already for some interested individuals.

Wow, if you check Steady, the second run is now sold out!!! They have posted a 3rd run. I hope they cap it at that (that way, its at least somewhat a limited edition) but Im sure glad I got in on the first run!

I'm just worried that they'll keep doing runs as long as they're selling them. I mean, they already told someone they were only doing two runs.

I'm with you on that. I don't know if you guys are familiar with UD Replicas, but I have a TDK motorcycle suit from their very first run. When they sold those it seemed super awesome to be part of this exclusive club, but they're still doing runs on those, they're gearing up again right now with TDKR in production. I understand where they're coming from, but I liked the status of being one of a handful of Batmen. I don't want to run into someone with the same suit one day, I know the odds are slim, but still... Lol

Me in my UD TDK suit. :)

Just got my jacket back from the screen printers today. Now all I need is to finish the cuffs, collar, and waistband. I'm going to decide if I want to quilt it after I get those things done.

Indy's version is a bit pricy (even for the perfect quality and fit). If you ever come across one of the jackets without the scorpion that we can get, Adam (or anyone else), please let us know. thanks man!

You got it brother. If I saw something even relatively similar I'd probably pick it up without hesitation.

On another note, I finally had my chance to watch this movie tonight. I am SO glad I ordered this jacket, I had an amazing feeling it would all be worth it. I was not wrong. I am going to see this again the next chance I get.

dang! i can't believe you haven't seen it. I see a LOT of movies and this one is without a doubt my favorite movie ever.

All this time, you've been helping us out with the jacket info and haven't even seen the movie? What got you interested in the first place?

Pretty much, haha. From the minute I saw the posters and the trailers for this movie I knew it was going to be good. I don't know what it was exactly but I could tell it was beautifully filmed and choreographed. That, and the jacket is the coolest looking jacket I've seen for a long time. As far as the helping goes, I figure that's what the RPF is all about.

I'll post pictures once I finish, but I've created the jacket for halloween based off the American Apparel satin jacket found here: Unisex Satin Charmeuse Night Jacket | Shop American Apparel. I used felt to create the stand up collar and scorpion and hand painted the cuffs and bottom using brown textile paint. It looks surprisingly good. I also picked up a white henley shirt and a similar watch from target (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v207/theantiduck/P1050895.jpg). I tried black 511 skinny jeans from levi's, but they were literally skin tight, so I ended up going with 514s which are slim fit. Gloves were ordered online and are a perfect match. Can't wait for halloween!

I am 5'7 175lbs with an athletic figure. I generally wear large because I prefer things a little more loose. However for ordering the jacket from steady I thought to drop to medium, and now maybe even small after measuring a few jackets. Will steady do exchanges? Also I guess worst case scenario I could get a medium tailored and have the sleeves an inch or 2 too long. Any ideas?

Here are a few pics of putting my jacket together and what it looks like up to this point. Enjoy

The collar is cut so low and deep, that I had to butt the brown up to the very top of what used to be the original collar. Looks a little funny, but it works until my Steady Jacket arrives!

Just need to add the brown loops around the shoulders and I'll be set.

Looks ok from the front, hopefully the scorpion on the back distracts people from noticing the collar in the back...

What do you guys think? :confused
