Can't wait until these ship and we start seeing the pics people post here of working samples. SI tells me he can match, or close to match my request for a Green or Aqua Blue/Green disc colors in order to look like my TRON 1.5 costume UV Strips and ELWire.

If there was a way to have it glow a very subtle blue shade of white it would be awesome, but as white leds are... well... about as white as is possible I doubt there is that much control over it

From what it looked like in the movie, the grid gave off that blue tone which is where that glow comes from, but at one point that hue turned off at Castor's and then you see that the glow on the suit went from a blue to just white.

I personally believe the natural color of the glow is natively white and altered by the atmosphere of the grid. I could be wrong, but that's how I took it. I need to see the film a third time, hehehe

I spoke with Quantum and they confirmed the lights on Sam Flynn, Quorra are a light blue. Remember that Disneys post production added the "extra" glow to enhance the properties of the costumes and discs thus altering some of the practicle suit properties. The reality is that there were few practicle light up suits/ discs used in the film. The majority was done with CG rendering, and replicating characters.

So I decided to go for illumination of the 'C' ring on both the front and back.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to do!

Only about an hr's worth of work to cut the 'C' shape out of the back half and battery compartment lid, sand the edges smooth and reduce the thickness of the second 'C' ring to allow enough space for the LEDs inside. I cut the second 'C' ring into three segments so I could still remove the battery compartment lid for easy battery changes. The back is visibly dimmer since the LEDs are firing straight up through the front, but I'm happy with the results! :thumbsup

Finally sent in my payment...not for lack of money, but because I couldn't decide what options I wanted.

Decided to go for the basic kit, and I'm going to try my hand at illuminating it myself with surface mount LEDs in batches of 3 to get that wavy look, and an Arduino board for some start up animation and maybe some outer ring revolving. ****** this is going to get expensive...but so so worth it.
