It is held by the one set screw. once it is loose or taken out you just kind of wiggle it and it should pull off.

The front does not work well at all. It gets jammed under the clamp even with the clamp open, so it's very hard to open and close it. I guess I will have to grind it down or something.

Yeah, mine wouldn't budge. I actually had to insert a 7/8" dowel and tap with a mallet to get it loose

Have you loosened the set screw that rides in the track? Maybe it's binding

Hey guys,

theres a lot of questions, and ill get to all of them, but real quick, I had mentioned that when you get your chamber you will need to figure what works best for you on the sliding set screw. it works best if it is barly showing trough and you will need to put lock tight on it so it wont move. if it is too far down it will lock up, please refer to posts 419 and 420. should answer a lot of questions

Ill try to get to more questions asap, I'm at work rignt now :)

It came very loose. The screw was actually sticking out a bit so I had to tighten it a bit to fit flush. The ring just does not go on the clamp. It actually looks like the clamp (Romas's latest) is not perfectly circular.


Looks like the wife and I are done and then this.

It's been a crappy day.

I have been trying to get the clamp more circular. It's definitely the clamp and not the ring. It kind of works but take some work. Maybe the clamp I pre-ordered for my Luke V2 will be better.

I do want to say thank you to Spirit of ob1 for putting this together! With this many machined components there's bound to be an issue here and there. I'm very happy with what the final product will end up being, it's just taking a little longer to get there. Thanks again!

On the booster threads not working, it might just be my 44 year old eyes, but my threads on the back of the revell chamber, the ones that should fit the booster, look wonky. Like there is a slight wave to them. They booster goes on about 1/4 of a turn and that's it. No burs or anything but I swear it looks like the threads are a little curvy???

Absolutely! Great work @Spirit of ob1 . So, after some playing around I have my saber assembled (just have to attach the transistors). I know it's not screen accurate- I replaced Roman's Graflex clamp with one without lettering and weathered it. I also weathered the top of the chamber which screws onto the grenade and ended up just painting the crystal. So, time to show off the saber with my custom case and plaque. Thanks again!!!

Okay figured out what happened on the booster, one of mine is a slight bigger by thousands of an inch, threading is the same, but the one they copied was a bit wider. the one that is wider is 1.08 and the one that is like everyones is 1.03. that's why some fit and some don't. but we will get it fixed :)


The one on the left is wider.

Again I'm very sorry guys, I envisioned something good, I hope this does sway you guys away from future projects.

Ill get to all the questions asap! as far as the transistors on my other obi's I used Teflon tape and just made it snug so they don't fall out. I don't think there was ever bolts offered with romans kits but ill look into a fix :)

Received mine today. The kit really is fantastic. Unfortunately, mine would not screw into the booster either. Everything else fit perfect and worked flawlessly. I am a little concerned about the transistor situation. It bugs me at the thought of having to glue anything on this hilt. Looking at the tolerances, one may be able to fit a very thin nut on a shortened transistor post with little to no modification of the chamber. It will be VERY tight if it does fit.

Is there anyway to get the brass crystal base out so I can install my blue crystal easier??? I took the hex bolt out but it does not seem to have made a difference.
