Attention: BANDAI will stop selling kits outside Japan

Re: Attention: BANDAI may stop selling kits outside Japan

Of course, that's with a free shipping option which means you probably wouldn't see it for a while. I ordered Bandai's 1/12 scale Boba Fett kit on October 22nd. On the 23rd I received notification that it had shipped, with the delivery date estimated to be sometime between November 19th and December 11th. :confused At this point I'm expecting it to arrive like an old steamer trunk, covered in stickers from every country that it passed through. :lol

All that fuzz for nothing, worrying about no chance of having a Bandai millenium Falcon because there won't be international shipping anymore and look.... Evil Bay is flooded with Bandai Falcon and where else more :facepalm

Thank you God :lol

Well I should have my Bandai Falcon hopefully tomorrow

I know that the general rule is to not say how you got the kits out of Japan,...but I feel that I need to pre-warn anyone that is thinking of using one of the mentioned mail forwarding companies out of Japan,...although the ease & professionalism of how to use the site is infallible,....its just the price for the service.

With the Falcon now appearing on Amazon & eBay for around £35 pounds with free postage, I paid over £45......4,000 yen & postage to the mail company,...then a further 3,000 to post to UK

So,.....I should have just waited & bought from resellers

I totally agree. I just made a panic preorder for TFA. I ordered my "Thai" Advanced through Amazon before the news with the same long lead times and it arrived just fine.

Now I wish I could get a fine molds falcon for a crazy-good deal to make a repro TFA study model.

Iv got to collect mine from parcelforce as i ordered both the x-wing and falcon together to combine shipping and the tracking says i have custom fees to pay. i should hopefully have it tommorow depending on the speed of parcelforce. fingers crossed, the waiting is killing me

Well, I was right. I ordered the 1/144 scale TFA Falcon yesterday for the aforementioned $41 and change, and the delivery window is pretty much sometime in December. I give it 50/50 odds on whether it'll be delivered before or after I see the movie on the 17th. :D

Ok so i got my kits today. The new X-wing and the Falcon, Both shipped together, kits plus postage they came in at $135 or £88.58. and the Customs duty plus Parcel Force handling fees for processing the duty (yes they do this the thieving basterds) came to £24.12.

So the total cost to me for both kits delivered with custom fees is £112.70.

Im happy because i didnt have to worry about the whole Disney/Revell Embargo even tho it turned out to be much ado about nothing. I was definatly caught up with the whole drama more than most i think.

Also to mention, you could probably save money if you buy the kits seperately, The Falcon can be had for £32.20 on ebay including snail shipping, and that should be within the threshold of duty aswell.

That's to bad Riboted. I ordered 2 Falcon separately, got the first one in today (with in 6 days) and fortunately no Dutch customs duty.
Well forget about it and enjoy :thumbsup

My Falcon and X-Wing that I ordered with shipping added arrived at home yesterday, and the second one I ordered to have as a backup or a future build was ordered without shipping. It shipped out yesterday and said it would arrive between Dec. 1st and the 22nd.

Got my Falcon this morning. Ordered via eBay in September and shipped from Japan as soon as they were available.

Having been murdered on import duty for items bought in the US and shipped to the UK, it was pleasant to just get the parcel off the postman with nothing to pay!

I bought a y-wing and the droid pair on Amazon in late September. Then I noticed the expected delivery date and thought, "Wait, shouldn't I have already gotten these?" At that point I noticed they would be delivered at the end of October and realized they were shipping from Japan.. They actually showed up a week or two earlier. One box was beat up, but the model looked OK.

I'm uk and have purchased every SW release by bandai so far . I have been using Ebay and this week 4 kits arrived with no problem at all. Speeder,x wing, Y wing and slave 1. Average price. £15 with free postage. All from the Far East so it certainly hasn't affected import here , fingers crossed it won't in the future. No import charges either as marked as a gift.

Bandai can try and stop these from getting out but fans will find a way even if it costs a premium. Maybe if everyone stops buy the crap Revell puts out they'll import the good kits.

Well, no stickers, but Boba Fett did arrive today, almost two weeks earlier than the earliest estimated delivery date. :eek The packaging consisted of wrapping the kit in bubble wrap and shoving it into a manila envelope, so the carton was a little damaged but the parts and decals are in perfect shape. If my luck holds I just might get my Falcon before I see the movie. :lol
