how did you get the etchings to curve if you modeled them flat? heat? This is an amazing model! I abandoned my own and purchased yours because it was more accurate than mine was.

Thanks dude. The etchings; printed on a prusa at .10 quality setting 100% infill...they print at 2mm thick so they are pretty flexible anyway...I just used a hair dryer to soften them a tad

ahh okay that's perfect for what i want to do as well. thanks again for the info and for reigniting the fire for building this. Your work is incredible and sooo fast compared to the pace i was working at!

Got the backpack modelled, with space for the fog machine in the back. I might as well carry on and model the rest of the hard suit parts...

So I've started work on the bronze effect...polyester resin loaded with bronze cold cast powder. It needs a bit of buffing with wire wool to expose the metal and then spritzed with ammonia to get the verdigris to bloom. I'll keep at it until I'm happy with it;

Asking about lights inside, this is what I've found so far.

Are their heads slumped forward like that just because the helmets are heavy, or did they not provide enough head room in the back to hold their heads up straight?

Probably heavy.

Unlike a deep sea dive set up there is no shoulder plate and strapping to keep it in place.
