1/72 Hoth Echo Base Hangar diorama

Such fine work, it is a joy to watch
Well thank you my friend, I try. I'm just attempting to follow some of the other genius builders and it's making me better. Hunk a Junk, Korban, Analyzer, and several others are constantly showing me things I never knew before!

I would have been further along with this PG build but I took a 4 week break before Halloween to assemble this...it still needs some work to fit and stay on correctly, but man what fun it was! the last pic is me with one of the neighborhood kids as Kylo Ren. I put Empire music on, lights off in the garage, red spot lights on the floor and fog machines. I guess since I started this thread I can go off topic for a moment LOL

Geez! Multiple kit projects, Stormtrooper costume - where do you have the time?!
Nah brother, I took a break from the Hoth diorama to do the armor. The PG is to replace the MPC. I had to focus on the armor to get it done in time for Halloween. Now Korban...that dude is the master multi-tasker, he's always working on AT LEAST two things at once. got talent a plenty and one of the sharpest eye's for detail(y)
I'm going a bit slow on the PG, but I did get all the parts including your maintenance pits that just arrived yesterday...brilliant work man!
I'm having such a good time with this one I'm thinking about busting out the Deago after I finish this one...then I can go nuts with the lighting and it'll be sooo much easier to fit everything!

Don’t sell yourself short mate! The modelling work you’ve been sharing on here with us is pretty bloody impressive - not only in their scale , but also in the multi - disciplines involved with/when producing the results , final or otherwise .
Everything from building straight outta the box, to scratching & mods , lighting , foam work sculpting , painting, etc...etc..., all within a ( self imposed ) timeframe too !
I’ve gotten bogged down with just planning & doing any solid work on a single build that was started two years ago , and still has a long way to go before being even considered close to finished ! .
So yeah mate , your pool of talent is pretty deep & isn’t as insignificant as you think !(y)

Thanks Ged, can't tell you how much I appreciate the kind words brother!(y)

Hey GT,

Looking at the LEDs under the floor grates... What if you set the LEDs back a bit, if possible, to allow for a wider spread?

The issue with that is distance allowed by the PG Falcon. It's a tight fit in there already and moving that back any further may not be possible.

I noticed that... HMMMMM... Try putting a white piece of paper between the LED and the acrylic to help diffuse. OR... Try sanding the backside of the acrylic. That might help as well. Just an idea. :)

Yeah, they do look a bit too centered, but Korban is quite correct. i had to use chip LED's for it. The acrylic is specific for light diffusion and normally you would set them back for proper light spread, but with the limited space i don't know that i can do that. i could try a test on the other side of the corridor as I did not light that because you wouldn't see it. perhaps adding a layer of thin evergreen would do it. i think I'll play around with that this weekend, good call. i would like it to be more even. then I could add more chips as well...i got a bag full (y)

Hey GT / Korben,

The diffusion is something we fought from time to time lighting the cockpit. I'm now dealing with the same thing lighting the 1/4 scale console and nav computer. I hope you don't take my comments as negative. Just tossing out ideas.

Is there enough space directly centered under the floor? That might diffuse enough? :)

Any information and help are greatly appreciated! I know I'll be needing to work out my cockpit issues here soon, too. I'll definitely by trying the piece of paper trick. The Bandai PG Falcon just has super tight corridors to work with.
