A short wait OK?

Soon all will be told, well as much as we know.

OK. I was just joking around. I already have plenty to digest and chew on and am still amazingly appreciative to Karl for posting what he has. And I'm looking forward to a NEW rac article about the hero gun(s) hahaha.
:lol

Thanks Rich.

OK folks I'm taking my pictures offline for a little while... I just got an email from Mac.com that says "you've exceeded 75% of your .Mac data transfer quota for the current period. At the current rate you may exceed your quota ... If this happens, access to your site(s) will be turned off"...

Since I need to keep using my .mac stuff, I don't want that to happen.

[update: pix will be back very soon]

If you need a mirror for hosting your pics, let me know. I have extra bandwidth that I never use. PM me if you need it.

Thanks Jim. I appreciate the offer.

However I was able to secure some more o' them precious internet bits and now my photos are back up again.

A little birdie told me that the "probe" on the front of the gun cannot be the Steyr firing pin. He even included a picture of the firing pin for me:

pin.jpg

And assured me that the firing pin is far too hard to be modified, or how he colorfully put it:

the firing pin is harder than a Han Solo carbonite woody at absolute zero, so there is no way it was modified.

:lol

Whatever the case, I it's just one more detail to love. :thumbsup

Yes, I said LOVE. :love

Thanks for putting that image in my head. :lol

Richard,

I would like to know if you are going to post how many modifications are you going to make to you blaster to upgrade it to version 5. It would be really noce if you could list them just in case we could help discuss tiny bits, though I guess you have everything covered already. As you strive for the best accuracy I think it would be nice to chat about it.

Regards

For people who haven't seen Blade Runner, or argue that it doesn't reflect Philip K. Dick's vision, please read this:

http://www.philipkdick.com/new_letters-laddcompany.html

And for people who are Philip K. Dick fans, here's a very introspective letter written by the author:

Amazing and moving information, Phil. So many thanks for sharing. Not only he is one of the most important sci´fi writers but a brilliant mind and a big heart.

Wow. I'm not into Blade Runner props but this is pretty cool..

I can imagine the joy this brings to people. Thanks for posting the pics Karl...

Keep me in mind..

Snoose

A long rifle with the two triggers, fairly plan in real life.

The part used is just the reciver with the whole barrel removed.

Phil,

First off, with everything you have contributed to this prop, it's wonderful to see you hear on this discussion.

And second, being a fan of Phil's work, and having read most of his books and short stories, I'm always on the lookout for something I've not found. The two letters you've included here show a rare glimpse into the man behind the work.

So, once again, thank you for your contributions.

Prefect42.
Ted.

Wait a minute. How'd they take that big rifle, turn it into a small pistol, and still make it fire (if it did in the film. I dont know)? Did they just use the triggers, trigger gaurd, bolt, and chamber with everything else from different guns?

Super hard steel untouchable by any tool, like superman.
