Well, it looks like they made an updated version of Luke's ROTJ saber for TFA...

Well, I just ordered 50 triangle rings. So if this run doesn't happen, that will be a bit of a waist:lol

fingers crossed! did i mention i was in? ;)

dan whats your plan for the arrows and black button? or will we be responsible for finding those?

So do I get a freebie on this run for posting the first Luke TFA saber pic on The RPF? :)

Jk, but I may be interested around the $100 price point.

I can see the box both ways, and crossing my eyes doesn't help ;) what do you guys think. Symmetrical or Asymetrical ?

I already indicated my opinion above, but I'll opine again: symmetrical IMHO.

And I'm a fan of static props, so no need of electronics for me.

And if I may ask, which dimensions for the main body are you using: those of the slightly smaller hero/yuma saber, or the V2? Are we assuming, that since it has a control box as opposed to a clamp, that it must be based more closely on the hero/yuma dimensions?

I'd say symmetrical as well, I don't see why it would be asymmetrical as SethS says. Would also be interested in the run at the $100 (give or take) price.

Personally, I am really digging this new version of Luke's lightsaber, the new emitter has really grown on me since when I first saw the pictures yesterday. I actually hope it's the design they implement within the rest of the trilogy.

Wow, my first ever post on the RPF after years of casually stalking threads - I feel so naive!

I say symmetrical if only because I can't figure out why, with machined pieces, it wouldn't be.

If they machined by hand (vs CNC) then the person making it could have been eyeballing it or took a little extra off by accident. So any unusual design aspects might not be planned.

I'm not saying the box is or is not symmetrical. I am simply stating that without knowing the details of its creation, we cannot accurately determine reason.

However, logically speaking, it is fairly safe to assume that if the person made it by hand and it was not symmetrical, their GOAL was most likely for it to be symmetrical when they were finished.

Having the thing tapered just doesn't make a lot of sense from a design standpoint.
