Oh and big thanks to Guan-thwei for the Distress signal sound  much appreciated
No problem man glad I was able to help it took me hours to finally get it to where I needed it and where it can be used by others like yourself. Hope you are able to apply it to other gauntlets as well. (y)

Dave, just absolutely epic with sound!  Reeeeally makes me want to see the whole thing put together.  Also, I think Brian's asking if you'll be selling completed sets.  I'm not sure anyone realize how much dough you've sank into these.  One miiiiiiiiiiiiii dollars!  lol jk
LOL yeah i spent my first million working on my second million   I do plan on selling them as a complete set i haven't sorted that part out yet.  I'm still adding more cool things to it  hehehe

Im still working on adding "The Hunters Lair" scolling across the segments and need to make a better video

More updates to come :)

Oooooh.... I just now actually looked through this thread. I am going to have to read through the whole thing to figure out what all is going on with this.

Looks like a promising thread filled with blinking goodness.  :)

Nice Dave.  Glad to see you're finding some time to work on this.  Keep those updates coming bud!

Brian

Hey everyone

It has been to long since I updated this thread .. I have posted a new video on FB and will add it here .. I also have changed yet again the micro controller that I'm using to control everything. It's still arduino based but its not a standard arduino. This controller has much more program memory and has allowed me to use just one controller to run all the segments and buttons . This will save on build cost and makes it much less bulky.. The controller is called Teensy++2.0

I've also been playing around with my black resin and my segments and will add a pic ASAP

Take care
David

DAVE!!!!!!!!  Good to see a post from you.  Thought you got swallowed up by work or something  :D.  Still loving this and so looking forward to seeing more progress pics and video.  I've been eyeing the Teensy 3.0 as a replacement for my Arduino Nano.  Have you found anything you don't like about the 2.0?

Brian

That is so so so cool.

Seriously need one of you clever folks to make me one of these in the near future.

keep up the great work.

With the sound that is definately going to the next level. I'd imagine that even for the movie the sounds were added in post-production. Every time i think the Lair can't get any better the ball gets knocked out of the park again.

Thanks everyone for the support.

So far Brian I have not found anything wrong with the Teensy 2.0 . All the library land programming I've done so far seem to work great and love the extra program memory .There is however some library's that will only work with the 3.0

Here are some pics of the process.. Will add a new vid showing the RFID setup I got working as well

I just got new LEDs that are clowded and look much better

Dave, Excellent work!

What did you encounter with the resin?

They are frames for each segment that would mount behind the gaunt window?

Could the segments be mounted onto one larger board such as a circuit prototype perfboard?

The four-window gaunt bottoms' window spacing aren't that much different from one another and the perfboard allows for some alignment adjustments :)

Thanks

The frame I made is just to hold the black resin to the shape of the segment as I pour it inside to cover the led's just to the top edge of the led's then I will add a slightly clouded resin over the black to cover the rest of the led's to finish the segment  then just pop off the frame. the segment can then shaped and sanded to fit threw the windows of the gauntlet.  as for my first try at it I simply just messed it up.  but now know what I did wrong .. ha trial and error

as for the segments being mounted on a large circuit prototype perfboard it was not designed that way and wont work as each segment must be separate to allow to be pressed as they are buttons as well

David

WOOOHOOO!!!! I'm so happy

After a few mess ups I finally got it

The segment look black but when the LEDs are on you can see it threw the resin

Here are some pics and ill try and get a vid later tonight
