Very helpful BF, thnx. Do you have a pic that shows where you ended these 8 Ground Lines, so everyone has an idea of how to do so without bustin' the disc wiring?

i just got back from there. i expected a crowd and a line, but was pleased it was just a handful of people trickling in and out every so often. i took plenty of photos which i'll upload later.
i also met obishawn and his awesome star wars car outside.
the tron menu is a bit pricey but a great experience altogether. you can order your food, browse the shop, and the friendly food servers will let you know when your order is ready. with every purchase you get a free tron poster and tron rubber coaster thingy. since i'll be attending an industry film screening of black swan, i won't be around tonight. have fun!

Late reply, but I was reading some old posts about shower curtains and transparency paper and a light bulb came on. Another good option to diffuse the light on the face is mylar drafting film. It's got a white matte finish like sandblasted glass, but it's also translicent (for tracing), comes in large (30x42) sheets, and it's plastic that doesn't wrinkle (consistent light diffusion). The only drawback is that it will crease when folded and cause a whiter line to appear at the crease. I'll take some pics of the film with el lighting behind it tonight to see how well it works.

I really want to make the Siren Gem costume but don't really know what fabric I should use. I feel like vinyl is slightly to shiny and matte vinyl is usually thick and doesn't stretch so I don't think that would work for her bodysuit. I like the idea (almost) of just using a thick stretch jersey because it would hug the body but wonder if it would look to "thin" if that makes any sense? Also I don't have the money for el wire or anything like that so i'll have to use reflective tape if I do it. I saw that there was a siren costume on here but couldn't find the original post to see if there was any other info on it. Does anyone have any ideas??

I was actually thinking about that too. Why is that disk just in blue? I'm using reflective tape for the suit. I might get some white ELWire and try to figure out how to replace the toy's lights to the EL Wire, or just take it in "off" mode on my back for the premiere :lol

I'm about to start helping some friends with their costumes and the sirens is going to be for one of them. I think I'm going to start with a full body spandex jumpsuit Like the ones figure skaters use. It will be shiny enough for the base layer and still comfortable to add things (lights and or reflective tape) on top. here is a link for some siren costumes:

With fingers in pain from sewing through this rough material.. here we have the fully lit room:
and then the armor in a room with 1 60watt light source nearby:
El Wire at 1ft lengths in each plate, sadly is not even lighting (not like EL Tape would do), but there is no room for more than maybe 1.5ft in each plate. I think it will do for now. Not going to wire the chest plates, they don't show from under the over robes (shown later).
It could be worse. I can say the dim or lit points are circuits opening and closing.
No one will notice when the sound driver has the suit flashing, or so I feel.

White vinyl well EL do cost could try a Bright led strips cheaper)
? glue in sections you need a driver for power, then the clear soles on the boots add lights to cant show the white one back ground sucks it all up but you can see on these black ones :confused

According to a friend of mine, who works as a costume designer, and worked with Soderbergh recently, this might be rubber (latex). There are some en ebay sometimes in many colors, but not very cheap.
The worse of this costumes is sweating. She told me that one time a girl was wearing a latex catsuit and her shoes were so filled with sweat dripping from the inside as if she was walking on water. They had to take off every 30 min and let dry, completely wet.
Another choice might be good quality lycra, or as a super thin 0.5mm neoprene steamer, and paint it in white. I would really don't know what to choose for this costume.
In this particular one, accuracy really fights wearability...

I can't believe they even showed clips of the ending. Well at least they showed Sam's dog Marvin. But there's a lot of outfits in the END OF THE LINE CLUB. Wow! I liked Jeff Bridges walking in his CLU outfit. That's pretty funny.Thanks for the post.

The spoilers for this movie have been going around like hotcakes as of late. If you DON'T want to know who Rinzler is, how Flynn & Clu began this whole problem, or why The Grid was developed into Flynn's dream, do not read the Tron Movie adaptation comic recently released. The last few pages are a sneak peek at the comic Tron: Betrayal and covers all the questions noted above.
I read the comic. However Rinzler is not TRON. Although his outfit is similar to TRON's in Betrayed. After all the question remains who sent the page to Alan? The movie doesn't answer that, and Betrayal doesn't either.
TRON is injured leaving in his light cycle. He's never captured by CLU & his henchmen. So where is he?

I just came in here and was going to post the link. Isn't it awesome!! Watch this everyone and anyone who is planning on making a Tron Legacy costume. Many scenes you can screen capture to study the costumes.Here is one I got of Olivia Wilde in her Quorra costume. Look at her left arm elbow area. She has a green material to CGI in later the part of her costume they had to remove in order for her to perform her scene. Goes to show you even with these fancy movie costumes, they were just not flexible enough for her to move around in her to do her scene.
I love seeing stuff like this!
