Tron Legacy Costume

IN THE HOME STRETCH, FELLOW PROGRAMS!

Putting the finishing touches on the EL Stitching on my vest, and then some cut and threading of the EL Wire through my leg armor. I also have to glue some elastic to a shoulder armor pauldron, but that'll take 5 minutes.

I will post pictures as soon as I'm done! So VERY close. Urggggh, I hope it all works out!

THANK YOU MOVIEFONE!

I will be seeing Tron Legacy tonight in 3D at the IMAX at 8PM FOR FREE!

I entered a contest and won free passes to an extra early screening.

20+ years of waiting to return to the grid ARE OVER! :cool

Re: Tron Legacy Costume planning - EARLY morning and this was done....

2:28 am(Eastern time here). My analysis; Tired: Yes. under pressure: yes. Back aching: yes. Ate Dinner/late snack: yes. Progress of suit finished: not yet. What do you have to show? The attachment pics of the HUB and Disc. Added a couple more details to suit. Helmet still haven't gotten done(planning alternate 'Open-Face mask' with lights around it). EL Wire lights ready to use: staring to work on them now. Will be going to bed at break of dawn/morning to refresh and then finalization of all what can be possible......END OF LINE.

I will post some full body shots with me IN IT with the Leg Armor as soon as I can find my Damned tripod. But at least you get a general idea/feel for what I endeavored to do!

More pics soon, I promise!

PS: As you can tell I'm not very good at symmetry or concentric circles. I promise to better on the next one! Promise!

Great work everyone!

So far this week has been Finals + Tron - Sleep = me.

Just got an update from a friend on another forum that there will be Papercraft CLU, Sam & Quorra helmets coming soon, but not nearly in enough time for tomorrow. There's always ComicCon I guess. Seems like this thread should be sponsored by RedBull & 5 Hour Energy!

OKay, finally found my tripod, had to get into the thing and tooks ome varying quality/lighting photos:

The background on this one was to distracting so I quickie Photoshopped out the background:

Here's the front in low light:

And the back:

So with that the costume is 99.5% complete. The only thing left to do on it (which is completely optional) is to anchor the 4 feet of left over wire (2 feet from each front panel) to the top part of the leg armor. Though I'm not sure I wanna do it, as the only way I'd be able to anchor it is with hot glue, and I think it'd look too messy. Probably just best to store it up in the back of the vest, or if I have time at work tomorrow to try and tack it down elsewhere on the Vest (I doubt it though).

Anyway, it's pretty much done. Hopefully I didn't leave you with the equivalent of "Tron Guy" in your head. I may be a bit rotund, but at least I had the common decency to get pants that don't "show what religion I am"...

It's been a ride folks! Hopefully people'll like it come tomorrow night!

So I have all my Quorra lights connected to 2 inverters. 1 for the torso and 1 for the pants. Is there a way for me to just have ONE inverter? And have the pants separated rather than attached to the body suit?
