Tron Legacy Costume

SOOOO glad I tested my jacket out tonight (after 3 weeks of not using it) One of the sleeves shorted out. :( looks like I'll be working down to the wire tomorrow also. UGGG!!

I know.

Wire management is proving problematic. Yanked out an arm design putting the thing on. So yeah, don't hold it against me when you see wire bundles and power packs everywhere on my suit. I want to glow, baby.

I'm a star....a big, bright, shining star.

But these last minute preps are killing me. Will the suit hold up in transport? It would annoy the living bejezzus out of me if I got there and I couldn't get a particular design to light up.

Re: Tron Legacy Costume planning - What can GO WRONG, WILL GO WRONG!

And it just going against me abit, but DAMMIT I'm gonna make it work out: my Helmet design didn't come out the way I wanted to with little time to redo it for tonight, SO- I had to resort to LAST MINUTE action such as 'costuming basics 101' level and came up with THIS mask-cover-up for back-up. I know I KNOW, it seems to be abit like 'Vinyl Fetish' look, but HELP ME to also see it as a 'Rinzler-like' look(TIME is running TOO CLOSE for the midnight release)! The lights will be added on it somehow/where there so I can get away from that 'Vinyl-Fetish' mask(just give me the GAS MASK and 'cuff' and THAT'S ALL SHE COMMAND)! :lol

What I'm happy on so far: HUB redone, Gloves adjusted, Light-up Baton Holder in place! EL WIRES measured and ready to be place on suit, Light-up sword in hand(just in case to do some fighting action scenario tonight). I'll make this 'Rinzler 2.0' costume work-it one way or another! :thumbsup

16 hours and I'll be on a plane bound for LA to meet up with all you hooligans!

It's at a fever pitch now. Can't.....WAIT!

Costumernew2010 liking the "inspired" costume! I am going the route of Inspired instead of trying to replicate as well, it's the lighting it up that's gonna be hard part though :S

If you end up having problems after you get to your hotel give me a call and I might be able to borrow a soldering iron and tools.

See you TRONmorrow!!!! (yes..I just came up with that he-he) ;)

That was so bad I almost derezzed. ;) I just made that one up too!

Definitely will take you up on the offer. I'll be bringing a repair kit and spare EL Sheet but you never know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

One I get settled, I'll be walking over to the IMAX to pick up my ticket, grab a quick bite to eat and then start going through the start-up tests to make sure everything is working properly. That's all the time I'll have before the programs start gathering...

So agreed. Costumer, myself, a number of my crew and hundreds of others will be at the TRON NYC event this Saturday eve. I already know that out of the 5 of us set to attend and of which I have seen suit production so far, 5 of us are NOT doing classic TRON1 or TRON2 costumes. Inspired is the best term I can use here. Pics will be posted Sunday morning of those in question and the event on a whole.

Great work all and good luck with those wires. (gods know I have already had a line pop out on me during suit sizing tests)

Allright, fellow programs!

Off to the midnight showing! Cross your fingers that the folks like my costume!

So I have all my Quorra lights connected to 2 inverters. 1 for the torso and 1 for the pants. Is there a way for me to just have ONE inverter? And have the pants separated rather than attached to the body suit?

Hmmm not quite sure what you mean but if you can use one inverter for your entire suit like me. Just add a Plug n Play "Y" connector then you can add additional plug and play connectors to each. Like I have 8 connectors coming out of my "Y" connector powering my entire suit. Extension wires are everywhere but I figured it out. Oh, and one little driver I have to power my boot.

Check www.coolneon.com to see the Y connector and other plug n play connectors with multiple outputs I am referring to.

Jyhask and Costumernew2010 your suits are awesome! So much hard work! Have a great time at the movie and your events! I can't wait to hear the stories!

Trust me, I know yours and everyone's pain on here. I can barely see straight right now, so much focusing and intense labor and I am still not done. Will be working till the end like usual with my CON costumes ;) but the excitement in me is taking over my body saying...... I hate you Annissë!

Anyway, that is why it has taken me so long to build this suit, I am making sure my wiring are in place and enough slack that I will not be having any pulling out of my connector issues. The only thing I can't guarentee is the el wire totally breaking mid section somewhere. At that point someone please pass me a strong drink to contain myself. HAHA oh man.

These are great photos! Any chance you can please post the HIGH RES versions so we can download them? I want very good close ups of the SIREN costume in its entiredy <SP?> especially the shoes. I will be making this costume for SDCC next year along with a few other of my girl friends. We already have a SIREN crew going for CON. thank you! :)

Have a safe flight and we will see you tomorrow. If I look half dead, that's because I am :p so please excuse me, I will be very happy and excited though inside :lol

OH. MY. GOD.

You people have no idea what you're in for when you see the movie. One if the most epic things I have EVER SEEN.

Side note: costume was a pretty big hit with the line crowd. Hopefully same response on Saturday. :)
