Ya thanks I knew guys were chucking the bubble strip up in a mill and I do have a mill, but it sounds nuts. I’ve never trying putting anything that fragile in a mill before. I mean my vise alone could crush that thing. I guess I better buy a spare just in case. Lol
Right haha! I mean tons of people do it. I guess it just depends on the condition of your bubble strip. Mine I did on a belt sander very carefully...Which seems maybe a little more likely for a prop department to do haha.

I suggest a hand file, slow and steady. Place a few layers of masking tape on the jaws of your vice, and go to town.
Here is a good video by Clickspring to watch beforehand.

Sand paper and flat table here as well for width and thickness but have used a Dremel cutting disc to shorten it to approximate length then file and paper to finish. Blue painters tape (I use 2 layers and just get into the first layer then stop) in the bottom groove if need to “thin” the bubble strip down some to fit the clamp. There are variations on how to hold it in, I personally slightly bevel my sides and it slides firmly into the clamp without wedging itself stuck or needing just the right width to be pressure held in place with the clamp “jaws” (which is hard to do when it properly fits the graflex body).

As for the BP, pressure fit onto a cone of some sort, tape again would work well to hold. Don’t glue it unless don’t plan to ever take part without difficulty.

Thanks!!

Yep. The BP is just pressure fit around the adapter. I put a piece of tape around the cone for a little bit tighter of a fit, so it’s really snug. But easily comes off if I want it to.

Well that's two of you and I know for sure you would know Nick. I just knew there was no way some clown would drill a set into that B pipe. The thought of I just terrifies me. Lol So don't be carring it by the emiiter, got it.

Speaking of art, I think many of us are anxiously waiting to see your real parts Obi-Wan lightsaber finally assembled, Halliwax! No pressure. Continue your recovery and this thread will be here waiting for those awesome photos when you're ready.

I got a real camera now.. and I’ll be damned how to use it.. too many buttons. I got one of my kids i mentor who’s going to school for production she’s trying to teach me.. but it’s a process lol in one ear and out the other lol

It’s happening though... soon

Thought you guys might enjoy my approach to assembling the parts together into the lightsaber.

Couldn’t help myself after the video to modify the transistors and get them on. Then to modify the bubble strip.

Super happy to have my build finished!
