The Mandalorian (TV series)

I guess I lump them together. The flying mandos, the laser battles, the rock em' sock em' robot dark troopers all come across as low budget to me.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what I don’t understand is if you don’t like the show and all you want to do is pick it apart and criticize, why waste your time and energy watching it? Seems like there would be other things to capture your interest. This has gone beyond a simple critique. Just my $.02

I understand the (re)use of Bib Fortuna, it's no big deal.

They wanted to tell a quick VISUAL story of Boba taking over Jabba's old operation. It would be wasteful narration to introduce a NEW character sitting there on the throne.

Fat Bib sat there and was disposed of. Quick and effective storytelling.

People get hung up on the smallest things... Reminds me of those guys who criticize a beautiful woman's picture for having pointy elbows!

Looks like the Mandalorian got the face right, it was just the lighting/skin tone throwing it off a little.

I think it’s amazing

A: How far along deepfake technology has come in such a short time

and B: How unwilling Hollywood is to utilize the technology when people working on personal computers are able to put out better results than some of the Lovecraftian CGI nightmares that Hollywood puts out in mere days.

There’s life in the eyes of the deepfake. The mouth isn’t squirming along like a reluctant caterpillar. Why can’t Hollywood give it a shot? With the resources they have, their deepfakes would be even better, having more access to more machines with higher processing power and more reference material to work with.

Noted and disregarded.

He really felt like a video game character to me. They just didn’t capture the playfulness in Mark’s portrayal of Luke
I mentioned a few pages back, the guy had their hired to play Luke: Max Lloyd Jones, usually has a quite stiff acting style with very few and distinct facial expressions. Even if the DeepFake (or whatever it was) could have caught all the facial expressions he made - they would likely have been quite robotic to begin with.

Easy to forget. It's only a few seconds, between seeing him in just the tunic, pants, and mini-kimono thing at the briefing and in that with the camo poncho over in the cockpit of the shuttle immediately following this two-second shot.
That's not Luke. That's one of the "prune face" (Dresellian) guys that were part of Han's Endor strike team.
One of them got named Orrimarkko but there is at least one more sitting next to him during the briefing. They have elongated skulls, wear camo-painted cloaks and carry rifles.

WOW. I have lost count of how many times I have watched this final episode. I even binged the entire show this weekend from beginning to end. I loved the film noir feel to Luke's intro, especially the music. I love watching the reaction videos too see so many peoples emotions to seeing Luke and R2 post ROTJ. I have cried right along with most of them.

Like one of them stated, Luke's CGI wasn't perfect, but who cares, seeing him in his prime and seeing Anakin in him was beyond amazing!!

When Din asked him if he was a Jedi, and Luke replied "I am" I was weeping and shouting aloud "Like my father before me!"

"This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of TLJ Luke. It will soon see the end of the Sequels."
