The Mandalorian (TV series)

I loved this from start to finish.
Never noticed his long gun was inspired by the holiday special cartoon.

That last section in the town with IG-11....I was smiling ear to ear the entire sequence.

Ok... anyone else having premonitions of a potential Star Wars "Lone Wolf and Cub" story arc? Can't say I would object if that's the case, but also not what I ever would have expected...
I could handle that. I'd much prefer it to "taking care of baby" scenarios, the old "won't stop crying" or "needs a change" tropes. God I hate those, and they even did it on Rebels. And even Samurai Jack (the only episode of which I do not like)!!!!

Having watched a second time I think the show would have benefited from a little opening blurb like Solo had. There’s almost no context going into this if you don’t already know when it is set from reading up about it. Just something to set the stage a bit. I feel like Rogue One suffered for that same absence.

Interesting fellow Dr Pershing.

Saw the first part of this new series finally and I am impressed- it is nice to see how the rest of that universe operates instead of just that part necessary to help with the Heroes stories.
Aside for having the look and feel of a western, it also seems to follow the classic Clint Eastwood "Man with no Name" style- The Mandalorian rarely speaks, letting those around him doing most of the talking.

It was stated the Empire had fallen, so it’s after the destruction of Deathstar 2.0. The stormtroopers were private security Now. So this takes place after ROTJ, before the First Order comes to power.
Right, but that’s mostly implied beyond The Mandalorian’s convo with Greef. There are people watching these shows and movies that don’t realize where these things fall. I just think a quick recap of the state of the galaxy would help narratively and fit the franchise thematically. I don’t need a full crawl, but a few lines would do.

But Yoda’s don’t. He has green eyes with whites.
His eyes change from trilogy to trilogy. Hell, these forums are full of people picking apart the differences between a stunt saber and a hero saber, where Han Solo’s DL-44 changes like six times in the original trilogy. What difference does having bigger irises make?

Eh it was okay. It looked and felt like Star Wars TV... so well done then?

if you complained TFA was pandering with fan service, and don’t feel this is... well that’s just nuts...cuz wow.

ill keep watching... if it gets awesome - pilots are almost always crappy, so very well could get better - then great! Look forward to reading thoughts...

BUT If it sucks, imma come in here every day and say how much FILONI sucks... and Mandalorian ruins Boba fett... and Star Wars TV is ruined now... and Disney doesn’t understand bounty droids... and Orville aliens are now ruined for me forever... and I’ll only call Favreau “FavRUIN” and...

jokes I would never crap on Favs.

Building on that, when I was watching the end battle it made me think.....anyone who has seen ESB and knows about IG is going to enjoy the hell out of this. It honestly made me wonder if folks who don't know about IG's history or ESB would enjoy it as much.
