Hubby and I have both watched it now. We're both big SW nerds, and rabid fans of Karen Traviss' Mando culture. To say both of us are happy with the first episode is an understatement. We were both pleased and surprised that they were able to give us the feel of the universe (lived in, gritty, but fun), while still delivering some fun surprises. We both straight up went WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! at the end reveal.

Definitely looking forward to the next episode on Friday... which is, fortuitously, also my husband's birthday!

I liked it. I thought it was well done. I am with others feeling it was a bit rushed. For their premiere series on this project I felt the first episode could have been longer but that is the nice thing compared to a movie we have plenty of time for character/story development.

Really enjoyed it. I agree about the blue alien and the armor scene being off, but in general I loved its simplicity. Side note, the ending credits reminded me of Spartacus.

So is that the end of IG-88/11? I really hope not especially after all the buildup. They did such a fantastic job designing him, his movements, everything. But I wouldn't be surprised if they knocked him off for budget reasons since he was quite an impressive spectacle that was probably an intensive project to put together.

Also, I'm assuming there's another after the Yoda baby since the Mando's client wanted it alive whereas the one that hired IG wanted it dead.

Though, if the Yoda species alien is 50 years old and still an infant, how in the world could Yoda have died an old man at 900?

He would basically be a toddler at 200, in preschool at 500, at 900 he would just be entering his pre-teen years.

I just watched it. That was a lot of fun. The little enclave he goes into part way through, and the bounty at the end, were real surprises.

The bickering between him and the droid hunter was also a lot of fun.

The main character’s voice reminded me a bit of Daniel Craig. I liked it.

Yea. Pedro has the same ability as Craig to deliver a cliche line of dialogue, and have it come out fresh and new. The "I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold" line was delivered completely unique to every other "easy way or the hard way" line I've ever heard.

Was that either Nick Nolte speaking or playing the character riding the other reptile with the Mandelorion.....I think so?

Yea, Nolte voiced him.

It also looked like parts of it were filmed at Galaxy’s Edge. recognized some of those walkways and door ways. It would make sense that they would.

Or did Galaxy’s Edge mimic the set design from the show?

Agreed....loved everything but the score. It seemed to be lacking, uninspired, and out of place at times.

I recommend they bring in Bear McCreary (Galactica)....his thunderous drums in space, use of exotic wind instruments, etc. would be PERFECT for this series.

Of course, this is only the first episode. Hopefully, the music will get better.
