I'm sadly wrapping it up on Disney Star Wars at this point in my life.
I don't know. The public conciousness of what "Star Wars" is, is so directly tied to the iconic characters of the original trilogy, and even more so to the characters from the original movie, that I think the studio would be scared to veer too far from them or their time period.Only if it's related to the ST. Feige's stuff should be good. They just need to get out from under the shadow. They can't compete with the OT so don't even try and connect to it. Few hundred years out in either direction and you're clear and unhindered in anything you want to try.
Absolute truthGuardians of the Galaxy is a better Star Wars movie than pretty much anything with the Star Wars name on it outside of the OT…

I will always argue that Kylo and the First Order should have been a quick striking junk fleet that was amassed under the NRs nose. If they hit at the heart of the Republic (who believes they are in peace times) it really throws everything into chaos. They're too well equipped as portrayed in the movies and it would have been cool to see the ragtag band be the bad guys this time around.Sometimes I think that the you could conceivably find a way to swap all the Star Wars sequel elements and characters into GotG and with a few tweaks you'd have had a pretty feasible alternative to episode VII.
E.g. Ronan and his faction are turned into Kylo Ren and the First Order (wtih Snoke as Thanos), Rey as Gamora, Finn as Quill, Poe as Rocket, Leia and the Resistance/Republic as the Nova Corp. You could merge Drax and Groot into Chewie. And then you'd have to do something to change the infinity stone McGuffin but it could work.
That's actually interesting, and also fits with George's "Poetry".I will always argue that Kylo and the First Order should have been a quick striking junk fleet that was amassed under the NRs nose. IMO it also opens the story up to exploring the themes of what happens after a rebellion becomes a GOVTThat's actually interesting, and also fits with George's "Poetry".
As he said about his ideas for sequels. He wanted to show that setting up the new Republic would have been harder than fighting a war, as far as Leia was concerned.IMO it also opens the story up to exploring the themes of what happens after a rebellion becomes a GOVT
