The Mandalorian (TV series)

Guys, I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to summon the TLJ discussion by mentioning the costume…I didn’t mean for this to happen!

One of the three of the storylines in TLJ is great, the other third is okay, and the final third is terrible.

I'll let you argue over which is which. Fight!

No. And I was wrong for saying that. It just boggles my mind that all someone would care about is Luke being a badass. Makes me sad actually.

I don't agree with some of your posturing re how you defend the sequels, but this I agree with. Luke in this episode was fine, but unstoppable physical badassery is just inherently less interesting to me than conflicted soul-searching and strength of character.

To be honest, I couldn't allow myself to accept that it really was Like until I saw the gloved hand. Up until that point I was afraid it may be some kind of misdirection.

It took balls of Beskar to make this decision, because if you bring back Luke you know you better do it RIGHT.

I can only imagine the story discussions with some members of the team, deciding who the Jedi should be that shows up..."Ezra?" "Mace?"

Favreau: "Nah. Imma do Luke."

So I’m gonna take a guess that The Book of Boba Fett isn’t going to be a new show since it starts the same time as Season3. I’m gonna guess it will be little shorts and the end of the credits of each episodes. Boba is best in small doses and they know that.

I'd also like to meet the person who stepped away from the monitor looking at the CGI Luke and said "yup that looks good".
Probably because that was as good as they could get it with the time and money allotted. As fancy and as good as the show looks, it's still a TV show and they have a lot less time and money when compared to a big budget movie, and even then they run up against time restraints and budget. You have to remember, it's not as simple as just pressing a button or few clicks of the mouse or the keyboard. There's a lot that goes into this and the effects house almost certainly did the best they could in the time allotted to them. After a certain you just have to say, it's good enough and we don't have the time for one more pass and/or we can't afford the extra OT.

Another thing to consider is that this tech is still fairly new, remember when CG first started taking off, how long it took for TV show CG effects to catch up to movie CG effects? The fact that they can do this on a TV budget and schedule is kind of amazing in and of itself. Give it a few years and this effect will look as a good as it does in Marvel movies for both lower budget movies and TV shows, the tech is just too new for that right now.

Here it comes, brace yourselves...

The Sequel Trilogy defenders, that spend most of their time making false equivalency arguments and pointing to vague references in coloring books, cartoons, and comic books—all to prop up the characterizations, situations, and writing of those films and to convince fans that they should not expect to receive what they want from the franchise—will be crashing this party.

Contrasting the success of The Mandalorian in bringing overwhelming joy to the fanbase, with the decisiveness and overwhelming disappointment of the Sequel Trilogy proves that the purpose of Star Wars is, in fact, giving the fans what they want. That includes Luke Skywalker as the Jedi Master he was always imagined to be. A franchise’s purpose—and, therefore its longevity—is defined by the reaction of its fans. This was a tough lesson for Disney / Lucasfilm to learn.

Change my mind. ;)

I’ll respect your opinion, but I disagree. Season 2 for me has been fantastic.
The finale was good i must admit but i still feel there is more to be had.. maybe the pandemic had a hand in this or maybe season 2 was always going to be what it was,,,in any case disney + has just launched and done impressive things so far no doubt about it but with the star wars franchise on its own being gigantic and the walt disney company being so massive in a joint operation i feel i expected more.

Maybe the Russo brothers would be good for further star wars adaptions? as anything avenger wise they touched turned to gold.

Maybe the Russo brothers and star wars are not a fit tho !

Jon Favreau done a great job but in the first series(which i enjoyed more than the 2nd series) he defo dipped into and used pieces from at least 5 franchises from different movies/music and tv which were as sure as night follows day.
