The Mandalorian (TV series)

Well thats a relief, I always get the old goosebumps when I see some new Star wars,...BUT I felt nothing after seeing the ROS trailer

Plenty of good SW feeling with this new trailer

We'll obviously be seeing much more in a few weeks, but I spotted this when I rewatched the latest trailer.
Gotta [re]say it: this looks pretty darn good.

Yea, it looked like it had the droid "saucer" gunship fly behind a smoke plume too.

So far the only downside I see is the time period. Otherwise I kind of want to see this. In the trailer, I wonder if the "revolution" they are talking about is the Empire vs. Rebels or whether this is something to do with Mandalore? Hopefully it's the latter and they get rid of the pacifist crap Lucas did with them in the TCW.

could be both. the chaos of the rebellion could easily have allowed other things to happen on mandalor.

That never sat well with me. The pacifists took power from the warlike clans.... How, exactly?! Of course, they never gave an explanation, because there likely wasn't a good one. Ugh.

I'm wondering, since we see the Droid ship & Battle Droids in the scenes showing that family & especially the kid, if maybe these aren't flashback scenes to show what Herzog was referring to. Could be that the kid IS The Mandalorian.

Every battle droid from the prequels should have been the B2 style and been non-verbal. Jedi Knights vs Terminators is much more interesting.

I find it funny how some of my favorite stuff in the Disney canon is glimpses at prequel material yet I hate the films it originally came from.

The B2s talk. In ROTS they have the standard battle droid voice. But in Republic Commando and Battlefront 2 (EA/DICE) they have a deep intimidating voice.

If they treat the droids like terminators/killing machines, I agree. If it’s just Dave “cowboy hat” Filoni making references to TCW, though, not a big fan of the decision to include prequel material. I’m all for reimagining solid designs that had questionable execution in the prequels.

I know the B2s talk I just don’t want them to ha.

I do agree that I hope this isn’t a reference for the sake of a reference though

I could see there being droids still active post ROTJ, it’s actually less believable to me that they would all be out of service seeing as the Clone Wars were less than 50 years prior to this show. I agree it’s a flashback but it’s not outside the realm of possibility that some warlord is using repurposed droids as soldiers.

Jeez people. It's clearly a memory scene from the past.

Why would they suddenly include prequel robots and ships in a series set post RotJ ?

Filoni isn't stupid and knows a little bit about Star Wars Canon.
A warlord or crimelord could have easily gotten their hands on used Confederacy stuff.
