The Mandalorian (TV series)

I'm gonna laugh when we' spend the next 7 weeks trying to figure out how boba fett plays into it all, and we never see him again. Turns out they just called up Morisson and went "want to make $600 for two hours of work and technically be in The Mandalorian?"

You watch, they'll put Asoka and Sabine in old holocam footage that Mando finds or something. Feloni's gonna be laughing his balls off all season long while we try and guess how they'll play into the story, while he knows that R5 manages to have 6 more cameos this season.

I have no problem that he can speak with the Tusken Raiders with his hands like in season one.But this here sounds like he wants to copy a wookie or something.I think he should not talk so much. That was better in season one.

And about the Boba suit...yes your right about the size and the missing parts of the suit...BUT...no red LEDs in the rangefinder???That was really poorly researched. (n)

I'll say, what i liked about that is everything we've seen portrayed about the tuskens - ever - is that they're base savages. This, to extent humanizes them and shows they're just another race/people moreso doing their thing. I think it's the first time we've seen a character who actually took the time to get to know them instead of just writing them off.

I didn’t think the dragon killed the sarlacc in the Pit of Carcoon, just A sarlacc, but it’s possible.
I don't think so either, but they established that one could do it.

I know in the one LEGENDS story, he escaped because the Sarlacc was either killed or severely injured when Jabba's Sail Barge exploded.

Just seems like the consensus is, much like walking into Mordor, one does not simply escape a Sarlacc. It's gotta be dead or injured first.

With the whole Fett thing, I think they gave enough clues in the episode to maybe piece together what happened.

My thoughts are, he stayed in the Sarlacc pit, being kept alive, but still with an amount of protection from the armor, until this Krayt dragon killed the Sarlacc. He was able to escape, was maybe found by Jawas or Tuscans, & traded the armor for food, water, & first aid (I only throw Tuscans in there because of the weapons he's carrying), with the idea that he'd simply reclaim them after he healed. The Jawas wouldn't be able to use the armor against him, so, candy from a baby.

Then Vanth ended up with it. Fett knows he isn't able to go up against someone in Mandalorian armor, so he's simply biding his time, maybe even living & working in the town.

Now it may be put up or shut up time, & we'll see if he really wants the armor back or not. Just my thoughts.

No offense, but Tuscans are from Italy, it's Tusken :)

It looks like they could be borrowing from the canon aka "Disney Legends" material.

Just rewatched the episode, I thought Tusken rifles were traditionally portrayed as slug throwers but in this episode they have blaster bolts coming out of them.

Fetts rifle and gaffi stick remind me of the Sideshow scavenger Obi-Wan

anyone have any IDs on Vanths rifle? Almost looks like an AK receiver

fair guesses. I doubt they'll go with the idea that a sarlac pit somehow keeps it's victims alive for 1000 years, but the idea that the dragon did the sarlac in soon enough for fett to escape and otherwise save himself is a better option given the circumstances than "am boba fett! am beat the unbeatable!"

I love me some boba fett, but i was also one of the fans perfectly Ok with the idea that he died that day on the sail barge. the EU story where he "does stuff" and gets out always seemed unnecessary to me. Maybe they explained it well enough in the original EU story that it wouldn't insult my preferences. I just remember learning years after getting into EU that "Hey, they have boba fett after ROTJ", and couldn't figure out what the point was. lol
That's the thing... Hey I have "been quested" to return this kid to its kind.... But let's go back to Tatooine and meet the still alive Boba Fett because, well, it's Boba Fett! Plus: fanservice yay! I don't know... feels a bit like filler to me. I guess that's why I entertain the possibility of it being some clone, maybe with ties to Ashoka who has been confirmed to be on the show... not too far fetched, right? I know it's probably Fett, and it's not like I wouldn't enjoy a coronel Kurtz-Boba, but as you said: can't figure out what the point is.
Still a good episode though. A bit repetitive on the Tatooine and save the village tropes, but still good.

Jeremy Bulloch and Timothy Olyphant are both 1,83m in size.If this Armor is really ROTJ based, why looks it so small on Olyphant?

Jeremy Bulloch is 1.75m (5'9'') according to IMDB.
However... the armour had originally been designed fitted to Alan Harris, and he is 1.83m (6').

Not only is Olyphant taller than Bulloch. He is also not wearing Fett's tool-belt, which had been intended to fit around Harris's waist whereas Olyphant is instead wearing a gun belt resting lower down on his hips. I think it is mostly Olyphant's unprotected waist that makes the armour look weird on him.

Edit: StarWars.com's Databank lists Boba's height as 1.83m, as does Wookieepedia. Temuera Morrison is also 1.75m according to IMDB but Jango Fett is listed as 1.83m on StarWars.com ...

And maybe the shirt/ pant combo with the pants sitting lower make it look off too. Also maybe olyphants proportions are different, like a taller torso?

He was out to find Mandalorians. He was told one was there. He went. No one else is knew that guy wasn't one. People see the armor and assume. I'm sure everyone on a major quest strikes gold off their first tip. No one ever follows up something that turns out to be a bad lead. As for the rationale, you're not going to know if there is one after the first episode of the season.

I thought it's been confirmed Jeremy was near or at 6 foot in his prime. Celebheights lists him at 5'11 in his prime. Well above 5'9. I wonder if the armor doesn't fit him Olyphant correctly due to do his lanky frame and the fact that maybe they designed it for Temuera.
