The Mandalorian (TV series)

I loved the premiere episode.

I cheered at the triumphant return of...

(SPOILER ALERT)

...Richard Simmons!

I don't really know why I'm using the spoiler tag after all that's been said but anyway,
couldn't it be, like... any clone??? I mean, why does he have those scars across his face, isn't that some sort of hint? How about that clone with the scar, Cody? He didn't die in TCW did he?
just saying..

It could be, but there's not really any point. It could be, they could pull some sort of "I'm from mandalorian stock, teach me", but that would be... weird.

Teach what? Mando's looking for the "network of culverts". I don't see the point in meeting Boba either, since he's no real mandalorian and has no ties to them beyond his armor...

We’ve talked about this somewhere, but the “not a real Mandalorian” thing is still up for debate and could easily be explored via this show

We don´t know what contacts Boba really has and what he did in the last years. We also don´t know where he lost his armor.
I think he'll tell his story to Din Djarin in one of the next episodes.

I was saying the only reason I could think for a clone wanting to meet mando, is that the clone considered himself to be a mandalorian descendant becuase he's a clone of Jango (maybe not even understanding it's a creed, not a race), and wanted to become a full mandalorian or something. I'm just spit balling reasons why the clone at the end could be someone other than fett.

as far as "why would mando want to meet fett"? he wouldn't. mando has no use for that. the STORY on the other hand, has some uses for it. it could allow the story to delve into more about what it means to be a mandalorian. does fett consider himself one? if he does, how do his views differ from mando and the culvert mandalorians? we know that there is realistically at least one more mandalorian showing up this season that does not do things the way mando does (at least never did when she was in the cartoons), so is season 2 going to partially revolve around the differences in mandalorian cultures? it may, it may not.

Not to mention Fett has had dealings with Jedi in the past, whether we’re talking just the OT or including all the extra stuff. If the driving force of the season is trying to find Jedi to give up Baby Yoda, he does make sense to at least speak to about it.

Did anyone else notice that the aspect ratio changed when the battle started? Looked almost like IMAX ratio. I'm wondering if the plan was to release the premiere in theaters, so they filmed it that way, then the pandemic caused that to be abandoned.

Didn’t someone (Iger maybe? Or Horn?) mention the potential for theatrical runs after the popularity of the first season? Wouldn’t shock me if that was some planned future proofing in case that does happen down the road

Not asking to be judged, appreciate if someone can answer this without spoilers..
Is there any content that references the sequels in the premiere and if so,
to what degree? from trivial throwaway to a major direct link. Thanks.
I'm a bit of a stickler Meeseeks.

Episodes 7,8,9?... none

With the whole Fett thing, I think they gave enough clues in the episode to maybe piece together what happened.

My thoughts are, he stayed in the Sarlacc pit, being kept alive, but still with an amount of protection from the armor, until this Krayt dragon killed the Sarlacc. He was able to escape, was maybe found by Jawas or Tuscans, & traded the armor for food, water, & first aid (I only throw Tuscans in there because of the weapons he's carrying), with the idea that he'd simply reclaim them after he healed. The Jawas wouldn't be able to use the armor against him, so, candy from a baby.

Then Vanth ended up with it. Fett knows he isn't able to go up against someone in Mandalorian armor, so he's simply biding his time, maybe even living & working in the town.

Now it may be put up or shut up time, & we'll see if he really wants the armor back or not. Just my thoughts.

fair guesses. I doubt they'll go with the idea that a sarlac pit somehow keeps it's victims alive for 1000 years, but the idea that the dragon did the sarlac in soon enough for fett to escape and otherwise save himself is a better option given the circumstances than "am boba fett! am beat the unbeatable!"

I love me some boba fett, but i was also one of the fans perfectly Ok with the idea that he died that day on the sail barge. the EU story where he "does stuff" and gets out always seemed unnecessary to me. Maybe they explained it well enough in the original EU story that it wouldn't insult my preferences. I just remember learning years after getting into EU that "Hey, they have boba fett after ROTJ", and couldn't figure out what the point was. lol
