The Mandalorian (TV series)

Can you post said picture?
I know I saw a cleaner one somewhere, but here is one that sold me on it being Boba's Jetpack and Helmet.

If they add a Boba Fett connection. I hope they touch on why Jango and Boba are running around in Mandalorian armor. Yet they aren't Mandalorian.

As long as it's relevant to the story. I mean, if Jedi are practically myth, why would anything factual about Jango and Boba Fett be any more known? Keeping whatever about him/ them as vague would be far better than just pegging a huge character into the story.

Their whole thing is confusing because in TCW Almec makes it clear that at least in his eyes Jango isn’t a true Mandalorian, and it’s very much a culture/race. In The Mandalorian we see that Din Djarin comes from a Death Watch associated group that now believes that being Mandalorian is a creed and way of life, not a race. It’s hard to say where Boba fits into all that.

I would love to see an aged and scarred Boba unpack that history for Din, how his father was a true blue Mando at heart and yet was shunned by the nobility for having humble/off world beginnings. At the same time he watched a war where thousands of men with his father’s and now his face fight and die needlessly for the Jedi with nothing to show for it. The same Jedi that Mando is now harboring. He’s a man between worlds and I really like that angle and the contrast with Din Djarin.

All we know we know this...

Prime Minister Almec: “Master Kenobi, Mandalore’s violent past is behind us. All of our warriors were exiled to our moon, Concordia. They died out years ago.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi: “Hmm. Are you certain? I recently encountered a man who wore Mandalorian armor, Jango Fett.”
Almec: “Jango Fett was a common bounty hunter. How he acquired that armor is beyond me.”

So simply based on that, it would seem that Jango acquired the armor from a Mandalorian (directly or indirectly) that no longer had need of it (as in dead). I mean it could be elaborated more but I think simply understanding that Jango was a mandalorian and his armor was not truly his is enough to move on. Now should story elements dictate a complete different take, one could simply explain that Almec was not as all knowing about the Warrior clans as he thought. After all, he did not think there were any left at the time he made that statement. So if one part of his statement is flawed, who knows what else he is wrong about.

I'm not up on the current EU but as mentioned...

I’m wondering if Mando is reclaiming the armor from a certain sheriff

...For people that don't know, the current EU had Jawas acquire the armor and a former slave and current sheriff named Cobb Vanth located on Tatooine acquired it from them. So it would seem like you could almost do a story called "Brotherhood of the Traveling Armor".

I am not a big fan of Boba Fett. I think he got too much fan build up over the years simply because fans liked the armor. If they never had him in the movies and instead used Dengar doing the same thing as Fett, I doubt you would have such a cult following. Boba was a bitch and he died like a bitch. Let's keep it that way. So I hope any appearance of the armor is Cobb. I also hope that Temuera Morrison appearance on the show is that of Rex or some other clone.

But with all that being said, if the powers that be decide to bring Fett back, I support it.

I definitely think Boba started as all flash and no substance and remains that way for people who didn’t read all the old books and comics. That said I think they have an opportunity to give his character some depth which I’m interested in.

I’ll also be happy to see ol’ Rex if that’s who Morrison turns out to be playing.

...and remains that way for people who didn’t read all the old books and comics
But those books and comics only exist because the hype drove them into existence.

However what is done is done and there really is a lack of real quality history on Boba. Rather than seeing it in Madalorian, I would rather they do what they are doing for Obi Wan. Take a the idea for his anthology movie and making it into a limited series.

I would support a Boba Fett series especially if they could use it to tie in the Maul/Crimson Dawn story line that was left open at the end of Solo.

What can we learn from the fact that the Prime Minister of Mandalore knew of Jango's existence at all?
