The Mandalorian (TV series)

No reason they can't do it. They already had Matt Lanter in the show. Just get Jim Cummings in for mo-cap or put a performer in the suit and get Jim to do the voice. He'd be a great foil for Carl Weathers. Pishing him off all the time that he wants to shoot him with Hondo just swindling and joking his way out.

So, obviously there is the very life like Hondo animatronic before the ride, but during Smugglers Run at Galaxy's Edge Hondo also talks to you on Screen and it is some level of performer. At the time we rode it, my wife were debating whether or not it was CGI or someone in prosthetics with Jim Cummings dubbed over them, but either way, I think it does show that Hondo could be implemented in Live Action pretty easily.

I can’t believe it. Something “new” about Star Wars that didn’t send me into a depressive spiral! As an amateur composer, I enjoyed this a lot.

If you haven't seen it, the half dozen or so behind the scenes episodes about the show on disney+ "Disney Gallery", has a whole episode about the music and the composition.

I managed to secure the asset!

I just don’t feel like sitting through anything with Dave Filoni. I was interested in watching the Gallery thing, but now that I’ve lost interest in the show due to the inclusions of the cartoon stuff I really don’t like, I didn’t want to watch more of it. I just can’t get excited about any of this stuff anymore. It just isn’t Star Wars to me. There was some good stuff in season 1, but some stuff that leaned towards stuff I didn’t like. Now that they’ve explicitly announced they’ll be bringing in exactly the elements of the show I didn’t like into the forefront of seasons 2 and 3? Pass.

I saw Mandalorian playing cards at Target yesterday.
Smaller than regular cards and appear to have baby Yoda on all the cards.

Seriously. Watch those Gallery episodes. They provide an incredible insight into the production of this show, and Star Wars in general. Absolutely fascinating.

This is probably one of the reasons Favreau didn’t want any merchandise made right away. Because Disney doesn’t know the meaning of “subtle” when it comes to merchandise, not to mention Star Wars’ own long history with merchandise
I was thinking about this as I watched Empire the other day. When it came out, (and before I saw it as a kid,) I knew who Yoda was. Whenever I watch ESB, I think about how amazing the reveal would be if the audience DIDN'T know who Yoda was beforehand. The movie is written for it to be a big twist when he busts out "I cannot teach him." We expected a "Great Warrior," a legendary Knight who taught Ben Kenobi. We got little green goofy Yoda. Keeping The Child a secret as well as they did was a huge achievement, especially in the age of internet leaks.

For what it's worth. Got the most recent "this is the real release date, we swear." Email from AmazonView attachment 1340475

I'm in Europe and I first got a delay note from Amazon on this. Then yesterday I got a cancellation emailsaying it won't be released any more.

That sucks. Maybe they're putting them into one book ? Or perhaps there were concept art in there which was used in Season 2 ?

Anyone else get the cancellation email from Amazon ?

Nope. Mine is still currently showing as ordered and estimating arrival late next month. I wonder if maybe the licensing for the book in Europe fell through or something, or it pushed so long they had to go with a different distributor.

Find out next month one way or another I guess.

1980 I saw ESB, I was 6 1/2 years old. I don’t recall being spoiled by Yoda, he came as a complete and wonderful surprise. I do recall seeing several teasers and clips previewing ESB for months ahead of its release but no Yoda spoilers I can recall.

That said, I may just have not been looking hard enough at the time and don’t remember. I don’t recall If ESB Kenner figure cardbacks had Yoda on the back prior to the films release or not.

I do recall Ewoks being blacked out on the back of Kenner cardbacks prior to ROTJs release however.
