The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance Netflix Series

I've been watching the new series, and loving it!
nkg I would love some photos of props from this. The instant I saw the Skeksis law book I thought "I know what replica I want." Might the exhibit have that prop on display? I'm taking screen captures, but I'd love to see it in better detail, and it isn't shown on screen for long.

I'm liking it so far. The first episode was a bit too campy and glossy in my opinion, and lacked the "seriousness" of the original. That threw me off a bit.
But the second episode was much closer to the look and feel of the film. The forest/swamp with all the strange creatures, and the reveal of Augra was just fantastic. Beautifully well done. I am so impressed with Donna Kimball's recreation of her voice. She has such an iconic sound and Donna absolutely nailed it. I'm only to the 3rd episode, but I'm really enjoying it.

The British Film Institute has a popup exhibition of props and puppets from the new show currently on display. I can upload some photos if anyone’s interested.
I'm definitely interested!

This show is perfect, I can't believe how right it feels, its a love letter to the original movie which also tries to add something new and tell its own story. The world building, the visuals, music, characters... It has surpassed every expectation I had about it.

Just watched the first episode...damn, it's kinda weird, I keep thinking--Hooray for practical effects...and my mind keeps thinking--is this wrong? It doesn't look fluid like CG? Or even bad CG? ...Damn brain is so accustomed to digital crap, it kinda ***** me up...Gotta rework myself to practical effects. What a damn shame.

Thank God for the people that made this.

Give it an episode or two. It’ll set your break. Back to normal lol

Just finished episode one. Definitely has me more engaged than the original film, which I just watched for the first time about a month ago. I love practical effects and while they take a bit of getting used to here, I'm just so happy something like this even exists in 2019. It's absolutely beautiful...can't wait to continue

Finished it. It is waaaaay too long. Some scenes just kept repeating. I kinda got bored with it and at the end I was thinking can they be serious about a season two?

Saw this online and thought it was interesting:

“My Fan Theory after watching the New Dark Crystal series (which is AWESOME)... Yoda is a Gelfling, Thrall is a planet strong in the Force and The Dark Crystal is really a large Kyber Crystal (the Crystal used to make light sabers)... Now, I want to see it as a movie!”

scrolled through quick in fear of spoilers, but on episode 5. WOW!! just WOW!!

Nice little 9 minutes on the making of it. I could watch 10 whole hours just on this stuff alone. I'm eight episodes in and enjoying this thoroughly!! Man, these Skeksis are truly walking nightmares! I've never seen a creature so vile and evil looking in my life!

There is a feature length documentary on Netflix titled "The Crystal Calls: Making The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance"

Make sure you finish all 10 episodes before watching the "making of" if you don't want anything to be spoiled. I just finished it. I loved it all so much! Definitely will be watching it through again. This project is a prop makers dream! I'm so inspired to make more things from it. I already made a dark crystal pendant necklace and the coolest thing happened. Donna Kimball, voice of Aughra wore one of my necklaces to the premiere event in NYC! I'm so honored.
