The 89 MattMobile Build Thread.

Just wanted to show a picture of me on the Batmobile taken in 1990-1991 when my family was in Gran Canaria

I've got a similar picture kicking around in my parents' home somewhere.

WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK IN TIME AND MAKE ME OLD MAN!!:lol

Rats, I wish I had more room in my signature, as that one deserves some air time!

Conny, as luck would have it, I have FINALLY included your intro into the next episode of ROTMM, which is uploading now. The smile you crack at the end is priceless!

With youtube being the way it is, it probably won't be up for a few hours, but I'll post here when it's ready to go. This next one is all about airbag installation, and also some repairs I recently did to the caprice. I swear, if you watched these videos, you might ACTUALLY think I know what I'm talking about.

which is completely untrue, mind you.

When are you hoping to have this finished? If this is in another post on here somewhere don't get mad. Half the time I just look for pictures. But I've actually read some of the posts on here. Mostly Matt's. Matt not only have you made a ton of progress on your Batmobile, you got me to read.

Resisting the temptation to call it the batcave should be commended. 'Bat mobile garage' all the way ;)

That music is driving me nuts though!!!!! lol Can I ask what cam you are using to film these vids please matt?

Weequay

I am using a Canon Vixia HF S200.

I would say it's the nicest consumer camcorder I've ever owned, though it has it's limitations. After having worked on the Batgirl webseries recently, and seen what kind of footage you can get with a camera that isn't that much more expensive, I'm tempted to upgrade. However, what you gain in quality, you lose in ease of use. Auto focus is both a boon and a curse. For my purposes though, this camera is great, and I love it. Oh, my main criticism of it is that it outputs files in a proprietary format that not all editors can manage, even with the "right" plug in.

I probably should have gone with a Sony that outputs in .mov, which are extremely transportable.

Also, I'm going to put together a FAQ on my blog to answer commonly asked questions. I totally get that it's not always fun to slog through 50 pages of posts to find that one piece of information you are curious about, so I will try to help out.

Whew! The MattMobile party has wrapped, and it was a complete and utter success! I have a ton of great pictures I will share, along with tons of video I will incorporate into future episodes. And yes, we did get shut down by the cops. And yes, brad filmed it all. He seems to have a knack for catching on film when odd things happen at my parties.

More to follow!

When they asked you to quiet down, did you gesture toward the shell and say in a deep voice, "But...I'm Batman" ?

Looking forward to seeing the pictures and videos!

Sean

This is another reason I am glad I am waiting to sit in the "matt mobile" till it is done. He(Matt) will be so excited the car runs he will forget all about charging for pictures to sit in the car, along with leaving the keys lying around for me to take a little "Hot Rod joy ride" on the 5 freeway :lol

I think I'll send Matt the plans for the air taser with the key coded lock in. Don't enter code you get tased.
