The Batman cowl adjustment

I bought this The Batman (2022) Cowl from MinistryOfMasks, and it looks great when displayed, but my problem is that it doesn’t really fit me around my jaw, since, unlike the cowl in the film, it doesn’t have that fastening aspect where the neck part of the cowl can be unlatched for removal, meaning the cowl is extremely difficult to put on, and fits loosely when it is on my face.

I need to figure out a way to somehow tighten the mask or cut out the neck piece and reattach it with something like velcro so that the cowl can be taken on and off easier, and so that it fits my face better, while also being more accurate, here is the cowl as displayed on the store’s website (im using these photos because they’re better than any photo i could take of my own cowl)

Does anyone have any tips? what equipment I should use to cut out the neck piece, glues, velcro, any fabric or other materials I might need? this is my first time doing anything like this

Join the Facebook private group: The Batman 2022 (costume group).

If you search 'cowl cut', there are a few guys on there (Rob Dawkins is one) that explains how they cut and modify Reevesfx and other cowls similar to yours, it should work fine.
