I have to say, this is amazing! Keep up the good work!
Tell you what, if you fancy paying for me to come over, and letting me sleep inside the shell, I'll be the sanding guy

It being a car I may be way off... But what if after yours is done and straight... Then you see another at a con and realize some of those nuances were part of the personality of the piece...
Front turbine will not spin. Too much work for too little payoff.
Once the shell is mounted, I will cut it along the main seam line that separates the front from the back. The front will lift up or off to allow access to the engine compartment.
First, Awww, would it really be that hard to wire something into a dash switch to make it rotate? That's a shame.
I'm not disappointed at all, sorry it came off totally wrong. I have no doubt this will be fantastic. Me saying that's a shame was referring to the difficulty of making the turbine spin, not your choice to do it or not do it.Tell ya what. When you're working on a 30 thousand dollar project that you're looking to get done by a specific date within a specific budget, I'll let you pick which features you want, and which ones you want to spend your time on. Until then, please don't be disappointed when I don't chose to do my build to your specs. Thanks!![]()
... from "The Tao of Munson"Bah, I long ago gave up trying to compare myself to others or measure up. One thing I learned long ago is that no matter how awesome your <insert name of your favorite thing here> is, someone has one that is better.
I decided long ago what my approach would be to this build, and I'm happy with it. I'm sure there are people out there that disagree... and they are welcome to apply their beliefs to their own build![]()
I don't want to press the issue Matt, but just a thought: If you mount the turbine in a simple housing that holds it in front and back, possibly with ball bearings or whatever around the inside, and the "fan blades" of the turbine are slightly angled, the air running through them will make it spin while the car is moving. It's pretty low effort/cost.
