The 89 MattMobile Build Thread.

Are'nt you getting a bit concerned that the body might not show up? I know I'd be real anxious.

Since I started being more aggressive in asking for updates, the dude making the shell has really come through. While much later than I had originally expected, I am confident I will get my shell.

Well if he doesn't Matt...I can make you one my finished painted widebody 89's...and all the metal components that go with it for not much more than whatshisname charges:)

Well, the major set back I was expecting has come to pass. I'm not going to go into detail because it won't do me any good, but the end result is that the shell that is already six months late is now not coming at all :(

I'm switching gears and looking into another source for a body kit. Kind of depressing to find myself back where I was in June of 2011, but I guess that's how these things go.

Hopefully, the next kit builder I select will be able to deliver on the promised date, and I can get my build back into high gear.

you could try and make a shell yourself :) look up bailey blade on youtube, if youre curious how to make a shell yourself :)

Matt, sorry to hear the bad news. You're still ahead of the game than back in June though, you've got your chassis prepped and ready to go. Good luck on the new builder.

What a kick in the groin. Hopefully you arent out any $$$. Keep your Bat-Chin up sailor!

Truely sux... Hope it all comes good for you... Ever thought of doing one your self :confused :confused

Nope, in my mind, that sort of defeats the purpose. It's the difference between having a scratch build piece, or a cast off an original piece. Just bigger. I want the real deal.

I did indeed get my money back. That was the ONE thing he was very quick to do. In my opinion, he was looking for an excuse to get out of building my kit. But whatever, that's neither here nor there.

If anyone is looking to buy a batmobile kit and wants my opinion on whose kit to buy, please send me a PM.

In other news, I have since put down a deposit on a kit from ANOTHER builder, with an expected feb/march delivery. Which means it will have been about a years wait all told.

Well good to hear you at least recieved your money back!

I hate to see this Matt...

But I don't have to tell you, it coulda been worse!

I have been thinking about a trip out west next summer as I have a few friends in LA and SF. Maybe I can finally make it out to some west coast stuff and see this bad boy! :)

Keep up the great work! Maybe it will be almost finished and ready when the body comes?

Great news Matt, I'm glad you got your money back. Just think though, When you do get your shell and finish the build how much sweeter it will be.

OldKen, you are always welcome at the MattCave :) Come on by!

As for the building process, the bummer is that I'm basically at a standstill until I get the shell. Everything revolves around getting the chassis to fit the shell properly, and I can't really do much of anything until it arrives.

There are small logistical and purchasing tasks I am attending to, but the actual work of building the thing will have to wait until the shell arrives.

Matt, with the break till your shell arrives you can build up your arsenal like your awesome grapple gun. Bats has alot more stuff that would be great to build and you certainly are the one to build them with perfection. Keep building, it's great to see your project videos. BTW how is your foot doing?

JS, foot is almost back at 100%. Now it's my ankle that aches. Go figure.

And yes, you're absolutely right ,and there's still plenty of stuff I can work on in the interim. If anything ,this forces me to really knuckle down and get stuff finished, as I expect the MattMobile to occupy my focus once it starts picking up speed.

After the grapple gun is finished, I'm going to focus on my second R2, and the ZF1. Maybe also an all metal Korben Dallas blaster. Not sure.
