The 89 MattMobile Build Thread.

So basically, this build transcends hobby lines???? :D

I've completed another episode of ROTMM. With all that is going on lately, I'm a few weeks behind, but I really want to catch up before the shell arrives.

If you haven't subscribed to my youtube channel yet, please do so you can stay on top of all the updates!

So with the chassis stretch, are you going to add cross-members or anything else for structural support?

Absolutely. I haven't yet planned out how many or where, but there will be a bunch. Good call :D
Triangulating is your friend. I hung out a chassis shop that built pro-mod race cars.
Nice fat x-brace with gussets to triangulate the brace itself.

The shell is now in Phoenix. Looks like the dude has a few deliveries in AZ prior to heading out to SoCal.

All kinds of dashboard magic today. Got my laser cut dash panels AND my full set of gauges.

Matt

You are aware that you should not be following the tracker in real time all the way aren't you ? You know it won't get there any quicker for being watched :)

I keep getting an image of you jumping up and down like christmas morning when it turns up.

You must be getting gigerly about it's pendind arival... Don't for get to have the cameras rolling when she arives, we all want to see the look on you face as that sucker rolls up :lol

All I can say is....WOW Phenomenal work!!! With any chassis work think a few steps ahead as mentioned before regarding cross member structure support and engine support, fuel lines, exhaust etc.

Popping in for a look after some time away...

Pish! You didn't fabricate your own shell? I remember when this was a forum of builders! :lol:lol:lol

Looking awesome. Can't wait to see what it turns out like! $30k is VERY reasonable for a piece like this if you hit it. :thumbsup

I like how they threw in the free hat! ;)

I'm pretty sure they weren't having much luck selling them :)

Today I picked up my rims from CenterLine, then drove them down to the local BigOTires and got my mickey thompsons mounted. Kind of an interesting process... which I filmed. of course. I guess this means I have a new episode of Rise of The MattMobile to edit.

Stay tuned.
