Sucks man! I hope that doesn't happen to me, I have Con this weekend, and a half-marathon next weekend!
Yeah, my costume isn't going great... I put on the finished boot last night, and it was no where near fitting. Plus all of the other half-finished things :wacko May be that my mom drives down the pieces that still need to be finished on Friday night. Yeesh...
Though my car also decided to break yesterday, so I can leave yet anyway, which gives some more time to rush and finish some stuff...

all these SP costumes look fantastic!! amazing work by all of you. i think ive seen you Cereza over at Sideshow Freaks. good to see you here as well 
i havent seen this movie yet, but i really want to. i have heard mix reviews on it. visually it does look amazing. ill have to see it eventually.
sorry to hear that Parks. but going in costume will be fun no matter. You can even incorporate the wheelchair into the costume if you have to

Sorry to hear the bad news.....but now that gives you an excuse to turn a wheelchair into a lobotomy chair! :cool

That's actually a good idea. I just talked to her on the phone (she broke her leg during Lacrosse Nationals in Orlando, FL) and she wasn't keen on wearing her costume AND have to see Comic-Con from a wheelchair, but she also was just feeling the effects of the pain meds. Maybe when she gets home to San Diego tomorrow, she'll have a different attitude and be receptive to the lobotomy chair idea.
I know I won't be pushing her wheelchair while dressed like a German zombie and unfortunately, I don't look anything like Jon Hamm (or what would be even funnier, Oscar Isaac). I needed the gasmask to hide my ugly mug. As it stands now, I plan on attending Friday in costume, by myself.

She's already talking about the blank smile she can put on for pics. I have one day to make a lobotomy tool. And maybe I'll just wear something resembling the High Roller's outfit, even though I don't look like Jon Hamm, even if he were 20 years older.

I take pride in finding unusual ways to wear the same old costumes.....I'm doing a "deleted scene" Cedric Diggory that I'm going to change into half-way through the Yule Ball at DC this year.
Try a hex screwdriver like your get when you buy a pair of rollerblades. They have the same shaped handle.
If you making the lobotomy tool, then just get whit pants and a white short sleeved dress shirt for an orderly, or get a dress shirt, tie, and glasses and go as the doctor who is giving the lobotomy.
I really hope the two of you do this, there are a lot of babydolls, but no lobotomy versions. Plus......YOU GET TO CUT TO THE FRONT OF LINES WITH A WHEELCHAIR!!! :angel

Just got back from the first full day at Comic-Con, only saw one Sucker Punch character, a Babydoll in a brown uniform. More importantly, I found out from Security Weapons Check what weapons I can bring. I can bring my airsoft Mauser rifle, but I have to remove the bolt. I can bring my rubber bayonet and plastic sword. For the potato masher grenade, since it has a metal head, I have to tie it to my belt.
I searched two hardware stores and could not find a T-handle tool. I did, however, find a spring-loaded extension grabber tool, but I have some heavy modification to do to it. Below is a pic taken after I removed the spring-loaded trigger and grabber mechanism.
Now I have to fill the holes, smooth over the manufacturer logo and paint. It cannot have a sharp point at the end, or Security will disallow it.

Great gathering at SDCC today. I had to leave early because I sweat so much behind the gas mask that the stitches holding on my mask dissolved (lesson learned: always reinforce vintage thread). But before I left, some good pictures were taken:
It was fantastic meeting fellow RPFers there, like Peachykiki. Too bad I had to cut the day short, but I have repairs to do.

btw, in case any of you guys havent seen it, here`s the finished Blondie statue... which I guess the guys at gentlegiant ran out of imagination in the painting department, or maybe her face is just weird, idk but it looks to be the worst of the five :/

The people at the booth said that the German statue will go on sale later this year. At first, I don't think they had planned to sell it...just the girls. We German zombies get no respect.

My daughter flew home last night (and she almost missed her flights due to storms), got a few hours' sleep and is now ready for Comic-Con. She is wearing a sock over her cast and since she has to be in a wheelchair, she's now going to be Lobotomy Babydoll (she won't have the right version of the costume, but at this point, there's nothing I can do about that). Thanks to TONKA675's suggestion, I made a lobotomy tool, which she can hold like a rose. I threw together a quick-and-dirty High Roller outfit, since I will be pushing her in the wheelchair. I'll also take a cane, so that she can stand every once in a while for photographs. I'll probably take her weapons, too, and hang them off the wheelchair...just in case.

My daughter showed Alex Pardee her sword and gun. Alex was amazed that his designs had been adapted for fan-made weapons. He had to have photos taken with them:
He thought epilepticsquirl's rendition was much better than the Rubie's version, and there's no argument there.

So, despite her handicap, she had a blast being Babydoll. Here's what we looked like together, in my last-minute High Roller:

When she could, she stood, and tried her best to hide her cast (hidden underneath the sock) and her lack of shoe on her right foot. Thanks again to all the RPFers that helped make this day a real blast.
