Re: Starx- Iron Man MK3 - Started to Resin

Very nice project, this is now the critical part comes to get all the details. Take good time and dont stress. I will be watching this :D

Re: Starx- Iron Man MK3 - Started to Resin

I'll try not to disappoint tmp. lol. Although im pretty sure it wont come out nearly as good as yours or masked riders. Those two have got to be my inspirations for this project.

Been watching this WIP for a long time Starx! Glad to see you're back on it and kickin butt. It looks great

Re: Starx - Iron Man Mark 3

Makin more progress. So i re-did the shoes. The design came from Robo, then here are some pictures of whats in the progress of being resined right now. So far i have the neck, torso, stomach, back, and shoes all resined. The tabs, flight stabilizers, arms, and detail parts are only on their first coat. I had to stop for the night since the mosquitoes here in charleston are pretty nasty. Now its on to homework. Should hopefully be done with the resin/fiberglass step one week after july. Making pretty decent time. What do you guys think?

Where can I get the files for those boots?

Re: Starx- Iron Man MK3 - Started to Resin

Sorry it took me a bit to reply. thanks jtm for posting the foot file from robo. As far as progress on my side....lets just say that fiberglass and a cast on one arm is probably the worst combination ever....

Re: Starx- Iron Man MK3 - Started to Resin

Hey guys. So ive got a treat for you. The cast came off not too long ago and since i finished all my fiberglassing work i decided to put it together in a quick video of me wearing the parts. Now, the parts are still rigid, and some parts still need to be trimmed to fit better and glued together so they dont fall off, which conveniently, the shoulders decided to abandon half way through..lol. But anyways, its just a quick video of me wearing the pieces to get that over all view of how it looks. Im wearing all the parts except for the fingers on the right hand, the thigh connectors, the left shoe, the boot flaps, and some of the detail pieces. As always comments are appreciated.

Ah i am so happy to see updates again from you man! i definitely laughed at the end when your shoulder bells fell off. hahaha. It looks like your mobility is quite limited though. Were you just being careful or is it hard to walk around in?

Your fiberglass work is great though, and your pieces seem really solid. Nice and smooth too. And are you going with Dungbeetles helmet? It looks like you'll finish it in time for halloween this year :)

yeah..it looks a little uncomfortable but that's only because the pieces are still rigid. I haven't sepparated the joints or any of the pieces yet. Partly too because I don't want to break any of them. I have a couple more things to trim before I step to the bondo stage, and then after that il begin to work more on the joints and the mobility of it. The parts fit well though and I'm pleased with the overall look of the suit. I already bought a helmet from masked rider so that's pretty much ready to paint. I already ordered the electronics too. Just a month and a half of bondo to stay on schedule in time for halloween.

Re: Starx- Iron Man MK3 - Started to Resin

Looks amazing. How much time did it take you to resin the whole suit. I am looking to finish my own by halloween, but I have only pepped the helmet, neck, chest and back. I am hoping the other pieces go faster.

Re: Starx- Iron Man MK3 - Started to Resin

honestly, resin and fiberglass only took me about two weeks.. But I also have school and work so it was an on and off process.
