Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release) (Spoilers)

I hope the Lando bit is true. I want to see Admiral Calrissian! The EU kept wanting to put him back to pre Cloud City where he was running schemes all over the place.

Yeah I really want that too. And for him to avenge Han is just perfect. I'm loving where these movies are going. :)

As long as he has the voice, they could always use a double for the walking and running about scenes, as they almost certainly will have with Peter Mayhew.

“Right now, there’s no Lando Calrissian in this movie,” Kasdan said. “But Lando I don’t think is finished in any way, shape, or form.”

Billy Dee Williams in February "I can’t imagine them not bringing Lando back. But we’ll see, I don’t know."

Lawrence Kasdan hinted that he feels Lando may yet be seen in the Star Wars universe. It's probably a well-considered opinion, as the character is popular and was last seen as recently as the Rebels cartoon just a couple months ago. It's totally unsurprising that the speculative echo chamber that Making Star Wars represents would generate the most obvious possible fanfiction and present it as Lucasfilm's plan for Episodes VIII and IX, but I wish fans could show some restraint in lapping it up.

Good grief, what is your beef with Jason!? LOL! That's not how this played out at all. MSW ousted the Kasdan stuff along with every other site. This was just another tid bit but hardly presented as some big scoop.

I outlined my problems with Jason and his approach earlier in this thread. I'd love for people to stop visiting his site, but then we'd only be left with the disinformation he deliberately disseminates to fans through other sites instead of the ridiculous guesswork that he posts on his own. I'll eat my hat if Lucasfilm has an avenging Lando script in the works.

Despite Jason's resources, he's only now starting to get anything about Episode VII "rightish." Unfortunately, that didn't stop him from posting the speculation of him and a handful of friends as news over and over again before now. This Lando stuff is the perfect example. It's a pretty small group discussing this stuff with him, and they turn a crumb into a feast by talking to one another in isolation. Before you know it, everyone's confirmed every ludicrous addition to the story because they heard the same thing from another guy - it's self-perpetuating. And that's all these sites need - two sources to say they heard it. He should know, since he's pretended to be two sources in order to get Latino Review, collider, and other sites larger than his to run bogus stories. He's poisonous. There's enough BS floating around without the "authorities" on the subject pissing in the pool.

I don't begrudge people wanting to know more about the sequels. I know why people go to the site, over and over again. But they don't necessarily know how his "news" is generated at times, nor how underhandedly the proprietor conducts his business. Visiting MSW is like unknowingly buying from a recaster. He's making money off of a warped copy of actual information and screwing over the fan community in the process. Lately, he seems really unhinged with this persecution complex - he's just reaping what he's sown. I love his insistence now that he's never gotten anything wrong...

Regardless all the hyperbole and "who scoops who" none sense, MSW and SWU, with both social media presence and weekly podcasts have delivered the best and at this point apparently accurate rumors and spoilers. And Lord knows I have been following anything and everything out there.

Who said anything about "who scoops who?" I said "planting deliberately false stories to other outlets and following up as a second source in order to make them seem verifiable." As for accuracy, it's not a stellar track record. The guy's seen concept art that a lot of people have access to, and his stories about the plot have been wildly wrong assumptions based on that art until enough pieces of the puzzle came together recently to start guessing a touch better. The Lando nonsense is the same small group "don't tell anyone" operator and confirming each other's fan fiction to one another. Seriously. Billy Dee Williams hopes Lando will come back. Lawrence Kasdan thinks we haven't seen the last of Lando in the Star Wars universe. But Making Star Wars has a source with access to Episode VIII! They say that Lando will avenge Han's death! It muuuust be true. Let's not pretend it didn't take two trailers, hundreds of pieces of production art, a steady stream of post-celebration interviews/articles and more for him to start getting stuff right about the movie that's actually underway.

I have no doubt Warwick Davis will be back just because he's a fan favorite as an actor. I don't see Ewoks coming back. I was 6 when ROTJ came out so I don't have a problem with Ewoks like some people, but I can't see them putting anything controversial in the movies. For instance, I'd love to see Naboo again, but keep the Gungans to the background and no speaking. Of course they could fix that and say that once Naboo and the Gungans reunited that the Gungans were educated so they speak properly. :lol

At least with Episode VII, they're not going to take any chances by revisiting elements from any previous film that have been widely disparaged by large segments of the fan community. They're playing it very safe here in regards to the past - if you see something you've seen before, it'll be something that was beloved by just about everyone. No Ewoks, no Gungans.

I'm sure whatever wacky explanation there is for that kooky sitcom of a comic book plotline will have just about zero effect on the relationship between Han and Leia in Episode VII, despite the amount of clickbait published by online rags...
