Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release) (Spoilers)

All I'm seeing is a lot of people who are killing themselves trying to wish the EU into existence :behave

I don't want that,at all,I never got into the EU and from what I've read up on since TFA was announced I find it dumb-so gawd no,just no.

I don't mind cherry picking bits out that are good but too much and I'd want to kill somebody,I doubt Rey knows any of the original crew,I doubt Kylo does either or that both of them are related to anybody that would be a colossal bore, exactly what was wrong with the prequels i.e. EVERYBODY was tied together in the clone wars and that explained everything in the original three.

I want new people and new adventures, let's tie off the old cast and go forward.

well, I was a fan of the EU and read most of the books at least. And I see less and less attempts to shoehorn the EU into the new films as time passes, the occasional Mara Jade comment not withstanding.

Aside from a passing mention of Mara Jade a few posts back, I haven't come across any of that in like a year. Who is pushing for that anymore?

OK Star Wars fans!!!! Place your wages!!! Which character in Star Wars - The Force Awakens will be the lucky one to say that infamous or famous line.................

"I've got a bad feeling about this.........!"

I think that's exactly what they're doing with this sequel trilogy...by the end of the 3 movies we will have all new cast. But to expect no one in the new cast and any other cast going forward to have any familial connection to the Skywalkers is to invite disappointment. That's what the anthology/star wars story films are for.

By the Blog narrative the Falcon is found on Jakku. Why is the Falcon even separated from Han Solo. As when Han states, "Chewie....we're home!" Did Han gamble it away and did it end up being sold as junk on Jakku however still works? Han would never be separated from his Hot Rod!!!

There was a comment of starwars.com I posted waaaay earlier in this thread that said something about the Falcon being a very coveted ship and that there were a lot of people who would like to get their hands on her... (It did actually end like that) So that leads me to believe that it was stolen.

As for the EU, there are crazies who are cursing Disney and saying they will never believe anything other than the EU, yadda yadda, but most people just would like things like ships, weapons, locations, etc. to pop up somewhere. If you take a way a lot of the really awful stories those are still valuable to movies, games, books, etc. That is already happening with the Interdictor showing up on Rebels. I don't know why anyone would or could get bent out of shape over that.

That's the best part of this movie. We have the old characters supporting a new cast of characters. It's perfect because it caters for both audiences. Your getting plenty of new characters so how can people complain. Also it's already been stated that the trilogies will feature generations linked together and that the anthology films will be stand alone one off stories.

So any chance we might get a spirit Jedi to make an appearance in this film, if so, who? I'd love to see Yoda show up and tell Luke when he's in exile to get off his sorry ass and "end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy"! Err, wait, that was Vader's line. Oh well, you know what I mean!

Denzel!!

Made a couple of good points:

Kylo is 2.0 Vader wannabe. Finish what? Palpatine setup the path to Empire.
Really curious to see how Phasma is going to look in action. Stiff stroll catwalk moves are unimpressive. That walk, gun ready, down base hall was cool.

Just want a good story.

I don't mind that, but if everything always revolves around a Skywalker or a Solo that would be a tad boring don'tcha think? like if everydamn movie is centered on a certain desert planet that seems to have problems noticing people of certain names always hanging around (you can almost cue Superman music and his "disguise" of a pair of glasses)

I wouldn't mind Kylo being a Vader clone gone wrong,I could even buy him being a Palpy clone,I can even see someone of the original cast having kids but let's have them be in a position to be in the background while someone new steps up.
