Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I keep trying to reconcile Star Trek…

“…I face a creature the Metrones called ‘A Gorn’…”

… with Strange New Worlds…a time before Star Trek but where the existence of the Gorn is common knowledge and a major conflict with them apparently occurred….???

No need to reconcile TOS with SNL... err... SNW. Alternate timeline, remember? TOS' timeline has Khan as a full grown adult and ruler in the 90s.

So rest your brains, my friends. After all, that's how SNW writers want you to watch this show. Or better, switch off your brains while watching.

Let me adjust my glasses and reddit issue fedora...

Actually, in the episode just watched they pay homage to the fact that Khan originally came to power in the 90's and it's stated that his being a child in the mid 21st century is due to timeline shenanigans by the Romulans, who are attempting to thwart human development. I found it to be a plausible and interesting way to retcon old canon without discarding it completely.
