'SLAVE 1' Studio scale build

Furball,
Incredible computer design, graphics, art work, drawings. Love you model subject selection.

Whatever you guys call the work you do. This type of engineering blows my mind. Need a refund on my degree. Toss the slide rule and drafting set. Only skill I may have in common is preliminary sketching which leaves me in the dust.
Thanks for the great comment Searun, glad you like my build. I got a degree to, never found it of any use. Best advice - Do what you enjoy and just get stuck in, learn from your mistakes and peers.

Mateo_Oo_O:cool::cool:(y)(y):notworthy::notworthy: Great video and tuto on 3-D printing!! That model is screaming for a exploded view of all the details and super nice add-ons to be exposed and painted properly. I would display that beast by facing the two halves together and showing its innards to everybody:love::love:

Don't be selling yourself short Searun! You're work is amazing too!

Thanks Joberg, glad you enjoyed the vids. An exploded view would look pretty insane - Love it. A good idea of yours to do a split it and do two halves . It would make a great display. It seems quite a few want to go down the 1:18 route and some are talking 1:12

Hey Furball! I’ve been watching your vids for quite a while. I had no idea until today that you had a thread here! Don’t know how I missed it!

I second Searun’s comments earlier! “Incredible design, artwork, and subject selection!” And I will add “imagination!” I’ve been watching the videos in total awe of your raw talent in 3D modeling, and your imagination in designing the interior the way that you did. It’s really quite remarkable! You inspire me!

I cannot imagine how many hours of work you have put into this so far, but the “hours” really do show! It’s amazing and I’m sure this ticks a LOT of boxes for a LOT of people with things we’ve all dreamed of having inside our Slave 1’s for the last 40+ years!

It really has to make your brain hurt sometimes trying to figure out how to split that apart in an efficient way. Planning everything even down to adding the channels you ran for power… it makes my head hurt just thinking about all of it!

Great job!

Hi JSchneider, thanks for the great comment. My posts do tend to drop off the radar pretty quick round here as there's so much other great stuff.
Slave 1 has been a really good learning process for me with the bonus I get a decent model at the end of it. You are right it has taken many many hours but the end is in sight. I do plan to further detail the interior as I work through the build. I am sure for many my Slave 1 files will just be the starting point to take the model to another level and that is something I would love to see.
Gotta go, the printer is calling me... Furball. :)

Making good progress printing and fitting all the parts for Slave 1. You can see the full process HERE in the latest episode of my build series.

Wow mate:love::love::cool::cool:(y)(y):notworthy::notworthy: Unbelievable work of engineering and the scale is fantastic (I love bigatures, not miniatures:D).
It's my dream to have such model in my collection...one day perhaps.

Hi Joberg, it's coming together slowly. Just finished the interior wiring today. Now I can get some primer laid down. Hopefully one day you will have your own Slave 1.
