Sherlock Coat opinions/info?

My tssy2005 coat came in the mail today, very fast international shipping, it only took 3 days to get from Shanghai to my place in Saskatchewan, Canada. Total wait time from ordering to when it got to my door was approx. 2.5 weeks, which I'd say is not bad at all.

The buttons are a tad loose as some people have previously mentioned, but the length and fit is nice. Not the heaviest material but considering it's custom and ~$200 I'm not going to complain too much. I'm going to try to get those buttons fixed soon then after I'll post some pics!

I got a note from them this morning to say that mine has just shipped. It's got to come all the way to St. John's on the east coast so it will be interesting to see how long shipping takes.

I also bought a Mal Reynolds set from them less the browncoat (I have an Abbyshot) so I'm keen to see how that turns out too.

I suspect it shouldn't take longer than a week Huzz :)

After spending some more time with the coat I've decided to take it to a tailor to adjust some things, I made a small error with one of my measurements so I have to adjust for that since it affected other parts of the coat.

Thanks !! I am really keen to get the coat so I hope it arrives as quickly as you say. I went to a local tailor to have the measurements taken so I hope that the coat fits nicely but we will see!

Cheers!!

That's a shame. I'll look for similar items. I will hopefully be purchased the hellocosplay coat for my birthday if I can implant the idea into parents minds enough ha ha. I'll pick up a charity shop suit and ask my grandma to help fit it as she's good with that sort of thing, overall I should be able to finish my Sherlock cosplay in a few months :)

Well my coat showed up last week after only three working days from China which is impressive all by itself.

As for the coat, I am actually quite pleased with it. The fit is quite good and the workmanship is very reasonable. I did take it to a local tailor for some fine tuning. The belt at back was a bit loose so I had the buttons moved to tighten it. I had the cuffs on the sleeves tacked to hold them securely in place. And lastly I had the pleats at the back stitched so the creases are permanently nice and crisp. All in all, I am very pleased indeed!

Hello all! This is my first post here. I've found you all to be a wealth of information and I'm thoroughly impressed by the knowledge contained in your estimable heads. I've recently found myself wrapped up in Sherlock (but only through season two so far, so no spoilers!). I'm considering, as have so many others, purchasing one of the Sherlock's Coat replicas available on ebay from Buyitjnow and Tssy2005. I've been given to understand that these ebay shops are both operated by the same company. However, there seems to be a discrepancy in price. Buyitjnow lists the coat for $145.01 while Tssy2005's is listed for $156.74. I'll include the relevant links below. Is there any difference between the two besides the price? If so, from whom ought I to purchase the coat? Thanks again so much for all the information. I appreciate it very much.

MOD EDIT: Please do not post ebay links, thanks.

The Tssy2005 one seems to be closer too the fabric texture and color...

Hello everyone,
Sorry to barge in like this, but I've been looking for a decent Sherlock coat and came across this forum. I'm thinking about buying the Tssy2005 coat on Ebay, based on reviews and the pictures I've seen in this thread, but I was hoping those of you who already have one, could answer a question.
I'm not looking for a coat that I can only wear inside (at conventions, for instance, like a costume) but one that I could actually use for outdoor (winter) wear, like an actual coat.
Could any of you please tell me if the coat is 'solid' enough for that?

Best wishes,
Edward.

My Tssy2005 coat is fine for a Canadian Fall day but the material is somewhat on the light side. If they could make it in a heavier wool material, it would be absolutely perfect. In fact, I think that it would be a good idea even if it added $50 or so to the total cost as the coat would be more solid and hold its shape better.

So I guess this thread is for all Sherlock items? Here is my question,
Has anyone found a decent Sherlock scarf? I am looking for a good scarf I can wear that will be warm in the winter. I need the scarf to be at least 72-74 inches and I would like the tassels at the ends. The scarves I am finding on eBay and Amazon seem really cheaply made and too thin. I also want to stay away from having the scarf rubbing on my coat and leaving traces of itself there which seems to be an issue with quite a few of them.

Hey everyone!

I made a great find today at Hot Topic of all places! Check THIS out!

It's not spot on obviously, but for only $80 bucks, it fits the bill. It fits really well, although I had to buy a size up (Large) because my arms felt like they would tear out of a medium.

It hits my legs where it should and feels really nice. Collar sits up nicely too...

So all in all, a good buy for the money. I'm pretty happy with it!
